Exactly, SS. It's not that we should all walk on egg shells with one another in the workplace, but bullying, if left unchecked, can create slippery slopes of what is tolerated, and then that's what brings about lawsuits.

Companies care about lawsuits, whether they are frivolous or not...they have to cover their bottoms.

This is an adult situation you are trying to erroneously apply to children. Dodgy

Again, you're trying to erroneously apply an adult situation to children. Rolleyes
I think it's even worse for children, though. As adults, we have laws in place within our workplaces that protect us from harassment, etc but kids go to school, having to fend for themselves. It's hard as a kid to process bullying, we don't have the luxury of hindsight then, like we do now.

Well, teachers should be on top of the worst of it. But even when they report serious problem behavior, administrators and law enforcement often drops the ball (like the many warning signs of school shooters).
Coping skills can be taught, but not if you only show sympathy for every little problem a child faces, i.e. coddling. And if a child faces any abuse at home, they may not feel like they have anyone they can talk to about trouble at school and often a learned helplessness in the face of adult power imbalance. It's not an adults job to make sure a child never faces any problems. It's their job to prepare them to handle problems for themselves.

This, I agree with. Well said.

Over coddling can definitely back fire down the road...studies have even proven this.
I stopped home for lunch from work and yay!! My EVP recorder was delivered today! lol

Okay, well guys...I charged my new little EVP device and meh, it's kind of cheaply made. But, it is cheap so I guess I shouldn't complain. I then pressed record and let it record for five minutes. I played it back using the headphones it came with, and it's weird...it picks up like the air conditioning sound and other sounds clearly that might sound like a blur, without the device. Idk. I'm not sure I like the idea of waiting to hear something unexpected or unusual...so, maybe ghost hunting isn't for me. Big Grin
