That's why I wrote that many of them are bullies. (And I just viscerally hate bullies.) JamesR didn't like me saying it, intuiting (correctly) that I was including him.

I won't be posting there while you are banned (and maybe not after you return). I'm not going to make any big farewell announcement though, since that would just give them an occasion to insult me.

I post for fun, because I like talking with friends. If they aren't friends, and if the conversation isn't really stimulating, then what's the point? Why do it?

This, btw, is in direct contradiction to that bullshit yesterday about men not caring about likability.
I read your latest post there Yazata and thought it very pertinent. James R again caught using the worn out space alien strawman. Then he launches another bizarre tirade against me underscoring how terrible I am and how I refuse to learn critical thinking from him. I have no idea why James R is so obsessed with me. Maybe he needs a whipping boy to take out his "ufo frustrations"on. Anyway, tks for backing me up again and taking a stand against their blatant bullying and trolling of me.
Milquetoast, thinking strangers posting online are bullies (somehow expecting friends?)...yep, it squares.
They ban you MR, but not a member there who is professing that he is God lmao, and making obscene vulgar comments. *shrug*
I have always found James R to be a pretty okay guy. I don't think he gets paid and he has to put up with a lot of crap. He may not always get things right (my opinion, your opinion, anyone's opinion) - how many of us do? Go easy - be happy - forgive. Personally I'm not the easy, happy or forgiving kind but I do see it as serious character flaw which I intend to work on at some point in the future.

False dichotomy there. Bullies vs friends? No. Bullies vs non-bullies. I expect online posters to be non-bullies.
There’s no reason to be a bully, online or offline but I think because it’s a science focused site, they want evidence for certain claims. So, it may not be considered bullying. Again, the fact that the thread remains open is a good sign, imo.

I like James, actually. What I noticed MR under “banned users,” is that there is no mod name listed for your ban. So maybe it was a mod group choice? Not sure.

I admire you sticking to your guns though, MR.
No dichotomy implied other than his expressed preferences. He literally likes "talking with friends" and hates bullies. His words, not mine.
I wouldn't say the opposite of bully is friend. I think MR is speaking about being able to agree to disagree in a non-bullying way.

I posted a thread there recently about misogyny and misandry, and it's interesting how many people don't believe that misandry exists...as if only men can hate women, but women are not capable of having a prejudice towards men or something. I grew tired of the debate and abandoned the thread. I'm not one to keep going round and round debating a topic, when I see that the herd mentality is not permitting any open discussion.

Where did I say that?
