What happenned to the chipmunks your neighbour didn't like - any survivors?

That was at our summer cabin and for a while the neighbour's efforts seemed to pay off as no chipmunks were seen for the remainder of season. However come next Spring, or this past Spring, there were chipmunks all over the place once again. However, I noticed during the Summer that followed that once again chipmunk numbers seemed to dwindle. I thought my neighbour was up to his old trick of poisoning the little buggers but he said he wasn't because of neighbourhood backlash. One day I noticed a stray cat roaming the area, an ordinary house cat gone feral I believe. No one could approach it without the feline running off. I figure he hung around because there was plenty of chipmunks to munch on and other people said the cat was seen at times with a slow chipmunk in its jaws. Anyways there were still a few around in the Fall so I figure there'll be plenty about once Winter is finished.

I don't think evil monsters normally take much notice of neighbourhood backlash - I'm taking him off my hit list.

Ha... I think I’m the only neighbour that’ll talk to him these days. He’s got a few bridges to mend. A lot of people adore the mouse with racing stripes by the looks of things. He didn’t like the holes they made in his lawn apparently and never had one show up inside his dwelling. Am I right telling him the small tunnels they make are actually good for the soil, aerating his lawn?
Happy new year to you, friends Smile Heart

Same. Hope the midnight fireworks are fewer this dead of winter. Spooked the dog like crazy last time around. (Who says they can't conceive both "world" and "end of the world"?)
Ditto, wegs.

In a New Year's message, did you guys see that Pope Francis denounced violence against women but then slapped this woman’s hand. Woah, way to represent, eh?
What an asshole!

He slapped the Donald’s hand, too, but that one was funny.  Big Grin
She hit his holiness in the palm of his hand with the back of her hand! He didn’t look too happy about it and she looked stunned. Then security grabs her hand. Maybe she tried to swipe Frankie’s ring? I wouldn’t rule out she is really SATAN either, with his many disguises.

It's amazing how people watch the same thing, and because of things like anti-religious bias, see something completely different.
I have no love for the Pope, but the woman wasn't letting go, which usually falls into the category of assault when there's no consent (#MeToo)...which there obviously wasn't.

And I hope you didn't fall for that fake, but funny, Trump video, but again, bias can do that.

For not wanting to be groped without consent?

They’ve got the market cornered on that. They are blasphemous in how they distort the Bible and the sex abuse scandal cover ups travel all the way to the Papacy. Jesus said “you’ll know them by their fruits,” He was talking about prophets and representatives of Christianity. I think we can see that the RCC’s “fruits” are pretty rotten, overall. You can defend them, but I would have to ask why?

Recently, they came out with a new way of handling sexual assault and misconduct allegations. Clergy and others working within the Church, can now go directly to the proper legal authorities to report alleged abuse. (Hard to believe they actually needed to be told the right way to handle crimes against children, but ...)

But, the one catch is confession. The RCC is still standing by a priest's ''right'' to privacy if he confesses to another priest in confession, that he committed a crime, of any type. It is sickening to me.

I find this organization to be corrupt and it distorts Bible Scripture to get a pass for their hypocrisy and blatant disregard for others.
