Looks good!

Thanks, MR!
That looks interesting, MR - thanks for sharing.

Noticed you're back from banned camp on SF. Yay! Big Grin
Sitting in hospital waiting room. From what I've been told they're going to do a thyroid bi-op with a needle into the neck. Had some swelling weeks ago that has since disappeared and they're making sure everything good. Don't like these places but it's part of growing older and that I see as a privilege.

Thanks....Yeah..according to a private message from James R, I posted advertising/spam when I posted those quotations about ufos, which is a lie. IOW, he just makes up any sci forum rules violation so he can infract me enough points to ban me. We'll see how much longer I last over there. One more infraction and I'm banned permanently.

Disappeared swelling hopefully already a good sign it wasn't thyroid cancer.

I'd wager that you might have the record over there for avoiding permanent banning longer than anybody else that's ever been persistently in their cross-hairs. Hard to believe that's pure luck as opposed to tactical calculation on your part.

The way I once understood it is that a member can get whatever infractions/temporary-bans they've accumulated reduced or eliminated over certain time periods if they "behave good" during such intervals. But maybe they've set a max limit now with no way to erase the aggregating past in terms of negative point count, nullifying "redemption" and strategy for a continued "eternal presence" being possible.

Hope things turn out okay, Z. Heart

haha I wonder if one of their ads just showed on the page ...there are a lot of ads that intertwine with the flow of different threads, I've noticed. I hope you won't be banned permanently.
They took 6 samples, 3 from each side of my lower neck. Used a local, lidocaine, to freeze area. Then insert a syringe type needle and while the doc puts pressure on thyroid, a sample is drawn. That sensation I didn’t like but it was only a minor thing. Took about 10 mins. I’ll know results in 7-10 days.

All this started when I got my teeth cleaned. The hygienist noticed a swelling and said I should get it checked. I was recovering from the flu then and had a couple sneezing fits that morning. Felt all flushed then and my one thyroid was noticeably swollen. Today it looks perfectly normal so I’m hoping ok. Ultrasound said I have what’s called a multi-nodule goitre, both sides and not uncommon for guy my age. Same ultrasound showed my lymph nodes were ok in that area.

I always think that in 50 years people will look back and say “ they did what back then” but it’s the best we have at the present. Thanks for support.

A friend called me a couple of nights ago with some questions. He had the same thing. His test came back positive. His was papillary but all thyroid cancer has a 98% cure rate. He had a lot neck surgeries and x-rays, which may have contributed.

I had Grave’s disease in my 20’s. I opted for the radioactive iodine treatment. If you have to have yours removed or destroyed and you have any questions, feel free.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about your friend. I've had two bouts with cancer and not wishing for a 3rd. Anyway the area affected yesterday only slightly tender today and I never had any real residual pain. It's a quick procedure.

No worries. He'll be fine. Just takes a little getting used to, that's all. A little tweak here and there but it's easy to treat.

Best of luck!
