Quote:The women who were in the running, weren't dumb asses, just sayin.'

Sorry Wegs....I should have said 'only dumb asses get elected'. Apologies to the women out out there. Mothers should be running countries anyways.

Still, can anyone tell me who the last intelligent (non idiot) POTUS was?

Just one term ago. Obama as far as an administrative scholarly appearance and not behaving outwardly or flagrantly like a dufus.

Trump is cunning, though, like a runner-up Russell Hantz or an occasional type winner of Survivor.

Sometimes what Trump says or does really is genuine bêtise and recklessness; and other times it's deliberate posturing for his followers and manipulation of the media and rival politicians and candidates. (Baiting them to respond melodramatically to something he said or did, and potentially creating the impression that they're overly obsessed with certain interests or have had obscured biases exposed.)

Kind of like the school bully slash breeder icon (who's also the leader of a clique) creating mischief for the nerdy kids who are slow about catching-on to ancient tribal customs and psychological buttons that are still a basic part of people interactions and social status acquisition.
Obama was slick-talking con man, not much elevated from a used car salesman. He destroyed racial relations in this country for his own political gain and ideology, and all without ever helping the minority community one wit as much a Trump has.

When it comes to a pandemic and safety for the good of the general population, separation of church and state shouldn't apply, anymore. No one should be permitted to congregate in large groups, and religious institutions of any kind should have to remain closed for worship services until we flatten the curve.

Locke & Key is probably not what you'd expect from a graphic novel. I'd bet you'd like it.
I'll give it a go and let you know ...The Walking Dead came from a graphic novel and it was pretty good. I fell away from it though, when the Negan plot went awry.   Dodgy

I never got on board with Walking Dead. I liked the early zombie-laden episodes, but quickly bored of the Talking Living episodes.

Beautiful bird MR....do you see it regularly?

Today I was lucky to spot 3 Black-belted Kingfishers. They were in and out of a backyard tree all afternoon. Two of them squawked constantly and there were some spectacular aerial battles. One was a female, easy to spot because they have a rusty breast band the males don’t have.

In the property behind me is a berm which has been excavated over the years and it now looks like a miniature amphitheatre with 10-15’ clay cliffs. Perfect nesting territory for kingfishers. They make a 3-6’ tunnel when they nest so I figure the battle was either for the female or territorial. Might go back there tomorrow and try to find the nest. The Niagara River is only about 200m from this spot with a wide creek in between.
No..I live on the west coast in Oregon. Mainly crows, bluejays, ducks, and sparrows round here.
Like the Norovirus wasn't bad enough...

Is it the Stellar Jay? Saw them at my daughter's house in Burnaby BC and along the coast there. Pretty spectacular looking bird.  Not like our local jays.

I have lived close to the Niagara River for over 16 years. I've driven and walked along the Niagara Pkwy hundreds of times but in all that time I would say I've only seen a handful of Kingfishers. This morning they were back in my tree again and there's now four of them.  They seem to like to perch there. Either I have two nesting pairs in property behind or it's 3 males and 1 female. There is constant bickering and fights. I'm tempted to let the local Birdwatcher's Society Club know of the location but I'm afraid if I do then the birds will leave because of the attention. Land is owned by a developer but new housing starts have been practically non-existent so I think the bird's will not be disturbed, especially now with corona work shutdowns in place. I would hazard to guess that the nesting site would be a bird Mecca for watchers. Property is easily accessible from a road close by. I'm happy to sit on my deck and put the binoculars on them. Very cool, have not seen anything like this before and it's live and in colour . I always thought they lived along waterways and built nests in trees. It's a total surprise to me to witness them using the side of the hill (an old excavated edge) as a nesting site (had to look that up) and 200-300m from river.
