I spend a lot of time at the beach but I've never seen a baby seagull in person before. You should invest in a good camera, C2. I'd love to see more pics. Maybe even a rat or two.

In the hobbies subforum he could also document -- until the cows come home -- his encounters with seagulls in a bird-watching thread. Rats as well in a rodent topic/blog hobby.

I've never noticed the hobby subforum, Blush I'm definitely going to check it out.

Speaking of pics, anyone else find it challenging to take pics on a bright sunny day...on the beach? The sand's glare makes everything sooo bright.

You can report it on YouTube, if you find it inappropriate. One thing I can say for sure, though, is that there are at least six women, who weren’t offended by it.

Okay, I've maybe finally located it on the web. Didn't watch/listen to whole thing, but IMO, what could make it more disturbing than the one below is that he's addressing his son in the song -- who is still a child, if that's him in the video? (Note again I didn't view it in entirety or check on the biographical details of this guy.) Otherwise, either video seems equally vulgar. Maybe because "country music" historically once carried a bit more family atmosphere to it on the airwaves (the redneck wildness became more robust later), it could seem a tad more shocking to traditionalists. Whereas the explicitness is arguably routine for hip-hop, going back to its origin days.

BTW, I"m not trying to get Ostro in trouble. What he meant by "incredible" could again go either way. Plus, since it's hip-hop, it could probably be "sung" in a church choir and no one would object. Hip-hop is kind of like the favorite youngster in a family of eight, who breaks the dishes, pees freely on the furniture, and puts bugs in the condiment containers. Whatever he does is "so cute" and wins approval of all.

lol CC, you description is funny.

Yea, I just thought it was gross, and strange to find in a political thread, in the middle of SF. If it were a one off, okay...but when you add it to the list of sexist posts...it paints a picture of someone who is not only a sexist, but might want to shock everyone.

Anyway, there are some sexy hip hop songs out there, but this song definitely isn't sexy.  Big Grin
Okay, soooo ...I just bought an EVP recorder for recording ghosts on amazon. Big Grin I have a reason that prompted me to buy this, lest I be judged, I'm not sharing. But, I'm mainly looking to have fun with it. In looking at the reviews, some purchasers gave it 3 stars, because it failed to pick up any ghosts. lmao! That's not the product's fault. I thought that was funny.

It is under $30 so not expecting too much; there are ghost recorders that are $100 and up.

MR reacts to your insults, Syne. Why does it matter if he believes in ghosts and UFO’s? It offends people so much for some reason lol I haven’t seen all of your debates, so maybe there’s more to it.

And I like my bubble. We all live in our own bubbles, if we’re honest.

Dodgy Maybe not cheer, but certainly happy about the censoring:

You're the one who said no one was taking note until you started whining about it. That's egging-on in my book. Aside from one single video, you have yet to justify any of your other bitching and moaning.

And you're suffering from attentional bias if you think MR never starts the insults. I don't insult him for simply believing in things like ghosts and UFOs. I do criticize him about claiming things are "facts" when he can't prove them such...and that's usually when he gets insulting. After that, it's tit for tat. Go look for yourself...if you have an ounce of intellectual honesty.

I don't live in a bubble. I'm inundated with views I don't share daily, and I frequent forums like this one. Intellectually lazy people like to stay where people largely agree with them, and then they get offended when someone disagrees. Go find your safe space, princess.

I hear you - regarding what happened on SF. But, think we turned a corner, and like I said...maybe it will bring about a productive dialogue. Why do you act though, like how he has been conducting himself isn't a problem? Showing more disdain towards my calling it out, is interesting.

I think MR believes that the eye witness accounts are factual. But why get so mad about it, Syne? Are you always seeking to ''win'' or do you ever just relax, and listen to another person's point of view?

Yeah, at this point, I think you're completely full of crap.

Again, go read those conversations. I don't get mad, I just keep explaining what qualifies as evidence and fact. Until MR gets butt-hurt and pissy.

But I'm sure you'd much rather just keep talking out of your ass.

Bingo again. Speaking as a competition, of trying to win in a game of rival viewpoints. Or speaking as communication between two people with innately different points of view. A primal assumption of mutual respect, without all the ad homs and name calling.

It's odd that you are more upset that I called out sexist behavior on SF, than the sexist behavior itself. Hmm.
The point you're missing is, if he didn't conduct himself as a sexist, there'd be no issues. But, blaming me for saying something, I guess that's your version of being intellectually honest lol
