I'm skeptical because the last thing I'm going to do when hearing an unfamiliar, loud noise coming from another part of my house, is grab my iphone to start recording my tentative walk towards the sound. It seems staged. Not that I don't have an open mind when it comes to things that don't have tangible explanations, but I'd think serial killer before ghostly activity. lol

Yeah, that kind of noise hints at something big and potentially dangerous... even if only a deer.
What I'm probably most skeptical about is where the video ends. It cuts off right before you might have seen something, and there's no follow up from the person, contextualizing it in any way. Showing the basement, talking about the experience, nothing.

I didn’t say Nipper was using the dryer tumbler as a treadmill, only that it sounded like something going round and round with a steady beat as if something was turning it manually. I have seen dogs that jump into dryers. I was a NG utility inspector and fixed appliances at one time. Let’s just say defective dryer tumblers make a similar sound to the noise in the video. I saw many animals in basements during those years including raccoons, rats, squirrels, birds(seagulls in a bakery basement once), skunks and on one occasion a fox. Domestic cats and dogs I have seen plenty plus exotic pets like alligators, lizards and snakes. One house had so many cats that the litter boxes in the basement were overflowing across the entire floor like lava, and many other disgusting hell holes containing numerous critters*. Follow any serviceman for a year and you will see thing you never imagined like a house that less than 24 hrs earlier was ruled unfit for dogs to live in by local SPCA. Unfortunately no ghosts.
Never know what to expect with a noise complaint. Yes people call local utilities thinking it’s something to do with their house appliances in the basement. Also numerous occasions where outside agencies like wind or water loosen things enough to start them banging around in the basement. This stuff happens regularly and if you’ve lived in a place without basements then I can understand why you’re not used to things that go bump in the night.
I don’t usually say what I experienced because it also sounds like crazy claims. No one has to believe it but are free to suggest other reasons. I dealt with normal, not paranormal. When someone tells me his furnace starts whenever UFOs flew over the house then I guess that’s as close as I got to paranormal.
* I did what any responsible human being would do when confronted with animal(s) abuse and reported it to local Humane Society/SPCA.

I pointed out before that it is more than likely that the homeowners have been experiencing other noises in their home and that this time they were going to film it. Most hauntings are a string of unexplained phenomena and not one offs. So it is entirely plausible to me that they would want to capture this on video. It's not every day that one has an visit with an otherworldly prankster! I know I would want to capture it on video. And effectively speaking, they actually did!

Yeah...I don't spend alot of time searching for videos of deer break-ins just to rationalize away videos of paranormal activity. I'm funny that way I guess..

Searching? They just get suggested to me while watching YouTube, like everyone else. Maybe you have a deer phobia and have never clicked on a deer video on YouTube, otherwise the algorithm would be suggesting them to you as well. Maybe you've trained the algorithm to be more single-minded, to reflect your interests.

Not to mention you thinking a glider could fly backwards: https://www.scivillage.com/thread-15701-...l#pid63308
Even when I could tell otherwise, just watching the OP video.
Funny how some people can readily recognize reality better than others.

Yeah...typical skeptic tactic of changing the subject and attacking my personal credibility. Typical adhoming because you've run out of arguments. "Hey don't look at that! Look over here at how incompetent the poster has been in the past!" As if deers sneaking into basements is anywhere NEAR a competent evaluation! lol

You have no personal credibility. If you did, there wouldn't be so many examples of your beliefs contradicting proven reality and even simple definitions.
And you whining about it is pure distraction. You seem to think that if you repeat the lie, that anyone claimed "deer sneaking" in anywhere, some hapless dupe will believe it.
Again, for the third or forth time now, like in all such cases, a deer would CRASH through a window or glass door, when no ones around to hear it. That's not sneaking, except maybe in your own reality-impaired mind.

I think that’s entirely fair, but do ghosts have mass? If they’re capable of making sounds and moving things, they would have to weigh something. I’d love for there to be more clear cut answers because then I could watch the video and understand how it’s happening.

Do you only believe in phenomena when you understand how they work? That would exclude alot of natural phenomena and manmade technology too---quantum physics, consciousness, TVs, star formation, artificial intelligence, photosynthesis, economics, your cellphone, your brain, psych medications, cancer, jet engines, nuclear bombs, DNA self-replication, calculus, organic chemistry, etc. Probably the vast majority of what we believe exists is not fully understood by us. Even my own refrigerator is an inscrutable mystery to me! lol
In any case light has no mass but can still push on things. It's called radiation pressure. Here's a demonstration:
