Compelling cellphone video of a haunting. The homeowner proceeds cautiously towards a banging noise downstairs in the basement, dog barking in the background, sneaks halfway down the stairs, and calls out. The banging stops. Silence. And then he suddenly hears footsteps charging up the stairs and responds with shock. Video appears to be authentic and unhoaxed. You never quite believe in ghosts until you encounter one in your own home!

Is the pooch using the dryer drum like a hamster wheel. Got to remember to close it when not in use. Like a good RCA dog, Nipper responds to his master’s voice, stops and then it sounds like he comes a-running’. Always carry a cell phone and video when investigating an unknown noise. The wife can hardly contain her laugh and hide her grin. Big question: Where’s the goddam ghost?

LOL Well I give you an A for originality and an F for implausibility. The dog is clearly upstairs with the man---you can tell by his barking. The wife is terrified and not amused. And the husband is terrified by the loud sound of the shoed footsteps charging up the stairs. Definitely NOT his dog.

Best ghost picture I’ve seen in a while, completely invisible.
Dog stops barking after guy says hello. Strange that in a situation where there’s noise and curiousity that the dog is nowhere in sight. You cannot tell where dog is, no way. The guy knows it’s his dog down there, the woman is trying not to laugh, eventually Nipper heads for the stairs possibly with a friend. Maybe a raccoon, not unusual for critters to end up in a basement.
And it just keeps getting better and better. lol Almost as good as your 2 buttons on a string ufo hoax. You really should consider a career in writing fairy tale stories for children.
Dog in basement barking at something, as it gets louder the closer the camera gets.
The "running up the steps" and other sounds are likely hooves of a deer, which are well-known to accidentally break into houses, and can stumble about rapidly on smooth surfaces.

Or a bear

LOL! We've gone from dog to raccoon to deer to bear now! Funny he didn't capture anything coming up the stairs at all. Also notice the banging is repeated and consistent. Something done deliberately that no animal would do.

The dog is clearly upstairs and then goes down the steps with the husband. The basement is too far for his barks to be that loud. Animals are naturally afraid of paranormal activity btw. That explains his standoffish barking.
Couple hears repetitive metallic scraping noises from basement. Reminds me of that video MR posted of the banging door in a basement in Brazil (?), a cluttered staircase and a security guard, also videoing. That was air movement but this one seems more mechanical. Could be anything, circulating fan, pump, vent motors on appliances, etc. Not ruling out an animal trying to get out same way it got in. Maybe the dog was scaring it, who knows. I like how dog stopped at sound of guys voice. Could have been the dog got into something. Regardless there’s absolutely zero proof of a ghost or animal but definitely something was making an attempt at some stairs somewhere close by. Stairs could have been too slippery for a frightened animal to conquer. So many variables that there is serious doubt a ghost is responsible…..
One thing video can’t capture is smell. I remember a skunk getting into our basement once. Had to lure it up a plank thru the basement window with some food tied to end of a string.
