Yep..simply because of the complete lack of it being anything else. As I pointed out earlier, I've witnessed paranormal activity probably hundreds of times over the last 24 years on paranormal documentaries and online videos. I've also read endless accounts of such as well as talked to some who have had such experiences. So I have no doubt that ghosts exist. They're simply a fact in my world and continue to mystify and baffle eyewitnesses to this very day.

Here's an excellent video of a ghost of a little boy peeking around a corner in a deserted building. Really impressive and more solid evidence for the paranormal.

It definitely looks creepy. I noticed one of the comments, someone states that it's not a ghost but an ''inner dimensional alien.''

I'm thinking ''interdimensional'' is what they meant? Time travel and such.

I can get behind the idea that there are experiences, sightings, and all kinds of phenomenon that science can't answer, but investigating these claims shouldn't cause us to lose all common sense, or logic. I want to believe in other words MR, that ''scientists'' wouldn't want to hide the truth if they could prove paranormal activity to be true, they'd want to shout it from the rooftops. You know I'm not a fan of Mick West, but he does make some good points on critical thinking.

Like magical occurrences in a video game, and to avoid contraction... The supernatural faction (whether religious or secular paranormal) just needs to accept that they've always been unconsciously advocating that this world is akin to a simulation. Whose rules or regularities can thereby be locally bypassed or undermined by interventions from the level maintaining the generated reality.

But that's probably against the credo of some of the theological ones (no science fiction and Zhuang Zhou interpretations of pagan and Bible spin-off entities allowed), so the empty hand gesticulations and illogic or incompatibility of the old-fashioned supernatural will probably continue.

I think any time a scientist or science fan claims that ghosts or anything really is impossible, they have to include the caveat that it is impossible as we currently know the laws of the universe. Lot's of things used to be thought impossible that are no more:

So we need to bear that in mind with ghosts, particularly when we know so little about they are. As Clarke's First Law states:

"When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong."

I think that's a great point. From my observation though, and throughout the UFO/UAP discussion on the other forum, I'd say that most people who are hardcore skeptics, believe that paranormal enthusiasts haven't exhausted all possibilities before ''leaping'' to paranormal activity as the only plausible explanation.

Yeah.. they somehow know for a fact that the paranormal is all bunk, so all evidence presented for it is for them axiomatically hoaxed or something mundane, like a sneaky deer banging shit around in basements. Their only interest is debunking, and so making their world safe again for science and the predictably mundane. Nobody wants invisible pranksters around messing up lab experiments I guess..lol

lol I definitely think that many skeptics approach these topics with only debunking in mind, but it is also fair to admit that many paranormal enthusiasts come to the discussion with only pushing ''their truth'' in mind. Both ''sides'' have to meet somewhere in the middle if we're going to get anywhere. I want to believe that scientists wouldn't dismiss their findings in favor of ghost activity, if there was something for them to tangibly review.

That's the natural result of having viewed many videos of ghost phenomena and after eliminating the questionable ones presenting the one they have high confidence in. So ofcourse they are going to believe in the evidence they are posting. That's why they selected it. And so if that's what the evidence shows, that's the logical conclusion to make, regardless of one's prior beliefs or disbeliefs about ghosts.

The little ghost girl named Jackie who haunts the pool room of the Queen Mary has been heard and recorded many times thru the years. Here's one of those astonishing occasions.

"Perhaps the most beloved spirit on the ship is that of Jackie.

Peter James first found Jackie, a young girl of about five or six years of age, in 1991 while exploring the Royal Theatre with a film crew. He asked who she was, and she audibly replied, “Meet me in the other pool.” James was confused because he didn’t realize that the room he was in had been the second-class pool during the ship’s sailing days.

Peter did as asked and met Jackie in the first-class pool, and what transpired there has now become part of paranormal legend. Peter conversed with Jackie for over ten minutes, and the whole conversation was caught on camera. This event helped launch Peter into the spotlight and spawned the hit television show Sightings.

Over the intervening years, many have tried to communicate with Jackie, and she has been very free with her time. She has a playful side and likes to have fun with people by playing peek-a-boo from the upstairs balcony. She will allow just a glimpse of herself and then quickly duck down behind the balcony only to appear in another part of the pool to repeat her game.

Many times while people have walked through the pool, they have heard her plaintively calling for her mommy. It is believed that she remains on the ship looking for her mother, but so little is known about this child that one can only speculate.

Friendly Ghosts

Perhaps the lack of any information for this sweet little girl is due to her possibly being part of the war bride cruises. What we do know is that she drowned in the second-class pool and now likes to play in the first-class pool. She does get around the ship, however, and has been seen in many other areas.

The Lady in White has been known to sing to Jackie, and the girl known as Sarah has taken it upon herself to be Jackie’s protector. The ghost known to us as Grumpy seems to have also taken an interest in this child, though why he has taken an interest we have yet to discover.

That’s the nice thing about a ship that may be full of 600 spirits–they can keep each other company.

Does anybody just bump into a ghost these days without some sort of production that ranges from guy with cellphone, guided tours, Hollywood productions etc? Whatever happened to the anecdotal claims? I can see a production having more of a bite than someone relating a personal experience. Nothing like vision to tantalize the the senses.

The QM is a business. It’s best that little Jackie Korin pops in once in a while for the production crews and the tourist/hotel business. Geez I long for the Headless Horseman appearing in a park again, scaring the crap out of someone. Even that poor bugger plays 2nd fiddle to a staged production, maybe he should get an agent.

Why is it that these ghost shows employ young hosts and running commentary with fancy machines that make whirring sounds. Like they’re having a party. Like a magician, the distraction is necessary for the delusion/illusion to seem real.

Anecdote….When I was young I lived practically next door to a large cemetery. As kids we sometimes slept outside in a tent and would sneak over there. Never saw a ghost but heard plenty of noises, moans and groans, crying and anguish. Trouble is it was real people, each dealing with the loss of someone close I suspect. There was a crypt there and we’d dare newbies to jump the fence and enter. Hey, no ghosts, the dead don’t bother anyone.
