I like to think of true anomalies as events and phenomena that happen outside the known laws of nature. The Big Bang would be one of these. Consciousness would be another..A wormhole? Maybe not.

They were unexplained... until an explanation was found. Science is all about making the unexplained known, so if you were really applying science, you'd accept that these things could become mundane. But that would go against your worldview/ideology. Obviously the Chinese lantern and highway lights weren't always explained. They became explained after people, including you, mistook them for UFOs.
So the unexplained became explained... the whole purpose of science. You're delusional if you don't think you espouse a very definite worldview. It's so definite, there are many people who share it. They have websites, conventions, etc.. ![]() Quote:They became explained Exactly..Tks for confirming that! Quote:It's so definite, there are many people who share it. Yes, the "unexplained" became mundane. The unknown, known. That is science. Not this perpetual cycle of making claims, proclaiming them the truth, and never becoming any wiser on what they truly are. That is willful ignorance, as it avoids any possible mundane explanation in favor of continued ignorance.
![]() Quote:Yes, the "unexplained" became mundane. The unknown, known. That is science. That's pretty much the scientism or Enlightenment narrative at least. That there are no unknown or anomalous phenomena and that everything is really just already explained mundane things. The universe reduced to a atomistic and logical machine where everything happens according to pre-existing laws. Since my research into the anomalous I have found that worldview to be woefully inadequate. And the sooner we acknowledge that the laws are of our own making and that consciousness is the vital core of everything the sooner we will begin to grasp our place here. ![]()
No, that's literally what science does. Scientism is the assertion that science WILL inevitably find the answer.
I challenge you to find where I've ever said that. But I can understand why someone as anti-science as you would levy the accusation. Even though you know I don't believe in reductionism, since I believe in freewill, souls, god, etc.. You're just desperate. |
