Gettysburg ghost video.....What should we be expecting of a person holding a handycam in a moment like this? Except for a slight adjustment to the left near the beginning, is this not the steadiest hand held recording device of all time, despite all the excitement of ghost soldiers climbing rocks? Even if camera was affixed on a tripod I can't help but think of the good fortune of having it situated pointing towards a very nondescript area of treeline, for whatever reason, and then having the remarkable coincidence of ghost soldiers reenacting some past movement of the Civil War. Too bad they never tried to get closer but I guess it was more important to hold the camera mind-boggling steady.

They probably saw the figures at first with their eyes and then set up a tripod and pointed their cam at it. That explains it.

Like a continuous loop. I didn't hear that mentioned. From a website called American Battlefield Trust. Taken from an article regarding 7 myths & misconceptions of Gettysburg. This is #7. Is it just a bunch of BS? Quote:Myth 7: Gettysburg ghost stories are true. ![]() Quote:Like a continuous loop. It is suspected in cases where ghosts are observed doing the same things over and over again. http://theshadowlands.net/ghost/residual.htm Quote:Is it just a bunch of BS? Nope. We got it on video. ![]()
So you agree there were no ghost phenomena reported from Gettysburg battlefield for more than a century? That would include the time when recording moving images was not used as evidence.
How do you know the video is a residual or a repeated time loop of a past event? What convinces you this is so? Should I be able to go to this exact spot, place a camera at precisely the same angles and whatever, practice patience until eventually I am able to record this exact same event or has the time loop expired? The video is interspersed with expert commentary that interrupts any chance of the viewer determining whether there is a continuous rerun taking place....why would they do that? The Dark Zone is a tv series. Does it worry you that because they have access to technology that could be used to create all sorts of images far beyond what most armchair hoaxers could, that trick photography has the possibility of being used here? Why isn't the family that took the video identified? ![]() Quote:So you agree there were no ghost phenomena reported from Gettysburg battlefield for more than a century? I agree that the 90's was the beginning of our modern ghost hunting era where people with cameras will go out late at night to find paranormal evidence. I doubt there were no ghost accounts preceding this time. I just think the site is biased against the paranormal. Money making is the go to complaint against ghost hunters by skeptics even though they rarely charge for their services. From 38 sec to the 50 sec mark, do you think the wind is blowing? When I rapidly click on/off the trees seem to move quite noticeably with every click, each split second. Is that just because its old video? The light reflected back to the camera from treeline also varies with each rapid click, again old recording? Poor quality videotape or film?
The figures are said to float into the trees when it seems quite obvious there's a path going upwards behind the trees. Why use the word 'floating' to describe the upward angular ascent by these figures? You really are disturbed by this footage aren't you? You have the name of the show. Give them a call. I'm not about to go down this anal path with you questioning every little thing in the video just because you don't want to believe in ghosts. ![]() Quote:I'm not about to go down this anal path with you questioning every little thing in the video just because you don't want to believe in ghosts. Anal? Odd choice of word. Too bad you feel that way. Why is it not in your best interest to explain even the most subtle anomaly a video might contain? You put it out there, not me. Not a program I watch but MacGyver, or at least a show writer once said: Only a fool is sure of anything, a wise man keeps on guessing. I'm not sure ghosts exist and was hoping you could change that thought with some convincing evidence. I'll have to keep guessing. |
