Because the land back in the 1860's would obviously be higher. What we are seeing is the land level prior to a century and a half of erosion.

Do you have topological elevation maps to back up that claim, or just more ad hoc bullshit?
Do you think all land naturally sinks for some reason? O_o

Yeah..it's called erosion. Take a Geology 101 course in college some time.

Erosion doesn't occur everywhere uniformly. So you'd still have to show some evidence of your claim.
Otherwise you're just talking out of your ass.

Except it was at night. Civil war reenactors at night? I don't think so. Plus there's the continuous loop effect seen in Syne's video and the floating above the ground level.

Even better. If I was a vacationer who wanted to play Civil War ghost, without permission, then night is the time to do it.

'Nuff said.

No..land erosion occurs everywhere there is rain. It's a fact of science.

In earth science, erosion is the action of surface processes (such as water flow or wind) that removes soil, rock, or dissolved material from one location on the Earth's crust, and then transports it to another location (not to be confused with weathering which involves no movement).

Only weathering occurs everywhere, and it doesn't involve the movement of material. Erosion requires a specific eroding force and only acts in direct contact. This is why a river can, over time, carve out the Grand Canyon but leave the rest of the land unaltered, and dunes can be blown around but plant-anchored soil remains unmoved.

Thanks for proving you're just talking out of your ass with zero apparent understanding of the simplest geology.

Something about your shitty demeanor makes me not want to respond to you any more. So be it.

Ah, more tone policing.

Won't make much difference. It's not like you're ever able to refute any explanation I suggest.

And you've said that before. It usually doesn't last long. Here's to hoping you display better willpower than you have.

MR....Why do ghosts glow? I understand that they all don't necessarily shine but if ghosts exist then there must be an explanation for this phenomenon as well as for why some don't glow.

Ghosts can emit light in the form of mists and orbs and just flashing lights. Apparitions are also observed to glow. I have no idea why or how they do this.

The glowing is from by the rainbows the invisible unicorns shoot out their butts.
And they can use that to conjure up a patronus in human form.

Ever wonder just how many different types of ghosts are reported? Visible, invisible, glowing, swirling vortex, touching, speaking, good, evil, misty, orb, time loop, flying/floating, object, animal, poltergeist, headless, scary, funny, musical, family relation, knocking, stomping, lost soul, and my favourite...rocking chair ghost. I'm uneasy about the ghost who sits on my bed however.

I'm sure there are many more. The one thing these ghosts seem to have in common, at least IMHO, is that they don't last forever. Eventually they are replaced by some other ghost or their haunt disappears for various reasons and they go with it. Don't seem to get the real historically valuable ghost, the ones who could provide us with great insight into the past. Wouldn't it be nice to see an entire prehistoric scene played out in front of us, like one with dinosaurs romping around. Wouldn't it be great to stand on some ancient battlefield and watch action with historical accuracy. Just to be able to report that stuff, doesn't happen. Shouldn't viewing a ghost be worth more than what any archaeologist, palaeontologist, or historian can provide ?

Relatives returning from the grave seems to be a very popular sighting. Never seem to see the ancestor from generations back, most seem recently departed. Don't know why that is. Unsettling to think that they're watching you all the time, voyeurs to your sexual escapades perhaps. Who wants that? Or maybe people are more comfortable knowing that HEY, there's life after death or something reasonably close and if you want to watch then go ahead.

And what is it about the dark? I'm an advocate of 24 hr haunting, you know, spread viewing time out evenly. And how about different locations, like a new building or house, underwater ghosts seem scarce. Has there been a ghost seen by astronauts? I'd like to see one up in the space station. Surely astronauts have dead relatives.

I'm most upset with ghosts who don't help authorities solve mysteries like unsolved murders and various crimes. I suggest we have a few haunt cold case files and give us the real story. How many ghosts have squealed on secret affairs between husband and wife or disclosed illegal activity by your kids? Ghosts are missing out on an opportunity to be a huge benefit for mankind, the planet, and history. What a waste.
