Earth Quake statistics & Locations

just found this really cool calculator
it allows you to calculate the size of an earth quake
https://earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/topics/calculator.php
how many times bigger is 1 quake from another

no mystacism involved in this.
my simple premis is that there should be a certain quantifiable level of probable prediction possible with basic movement of the plates.
until we get scientific instruments that can measure the torsion, (mass spectroscopy?) and electromagnetic fields and electrical build up at varying depths, (at which point it will be possible to calculate probablility of quakes) to have pre evacuation warnings and probability zones with time references on them.

e.g

MTC (Mass Torsion Collective) [Density Pressure & Electrical index showing collective data of Tectonic plate, rock, sea, land & generic teranian(sediment etc) electromagnetic levels including, friction, residual electrical charge and density index on a real time fluid display]

MTC value 75%
Location (plotted map area shoing most likely direction of release for directional shaking/movement and depth calculated by computer)
PT (probability Time zone) time in which it is expected to move as a statistical value in real time calculated by all data cross referenced with al known variables.

as smaller quakes and movement and varying degrees of planetary cycle, electromagnetic storms and other influencing factors happen it will show a real time value as probability values move up and down dependant on actual scientific data.

being a moving living thing the plates are always moving and thus having real time data showing build up and release of cross matched with density levels fault lines, strong points weak points etc... should give a good guide to what can be expected within a time frame of around 60 days(roughly) allowing for secondary systems and public evacuations....
reducing cost of lives massive reduction in loss of business continuity by efectively managing and almost preventing trading interuption.

i have been posting selected movements of deep plate quakes on the other thread

this thread is created because i did not wish to flood Yazatas thread.
please feel free to post or discus things here as you wish.

data moved from other thread
Got some SERIOUS plate action going on in the pacific in the last 5 hours.
hhmmm... all running around 4 to 5 just like they were preceding out 7.8
someones in for a bit of a big one i think.
my guess is possibly the leading faces that have not moved yetwest pacific subduction zones
we shall see hope it happens off shore somewhere

there was a 4.2 somewhere in canada but it looks fairly shallow so i did not list it.

Canada

Consistant deep movement all above the 4.0 range going up to as you can see around 5.2(i am not sure of the actual magnitude accurancey at that depth).
consistant more sparadic smaller shakes on the alaska and canadian boundary which is good yet shows consistant movement.

i am seeing consistant small surface movement in california which is awesome, lets hope that keeps those small ones going and stays shallow

New Zealand is starting to get some shallower ones which i am not too sure about.
there are consistant reports that the aftershocks have not become a slow rubbling sideways movement and they are happening at a much shallower depth which means greater potential damage.
if we get something around a 5.5 above at the 5km depth range then there is going to be quite a bit of damage, possibly more roads being blocked by landslides and houses already shaken may get shaken off their foundations.
the realy big change reported by some residents says the longer more side to side ones really do shake them around and resulting in them reporting the quake to be a much greater shaking/severity even though the quake size is a "to be expected not very big aftershock".
I and i do say If the deep 4 to 5 range continue on for a few more days, then i shall start to expect there to be another potential 7 ot higher somewhere possibly toward the south of japan where there has been almost no movement at all shallow or at depth.

24 Nov 2016, 12:28 PM (This post was last modified: 24 Nov 2016, 12:28 PM by RainbowUnicorn.)
new behaviour stronger quake and shallower alaska region. previousely the shallow quakes have all been very minor and nothing over a 4 or maybe 3.5
there has been sparadic but consistent deep movement of the between range of 4 to 5 and some smaller running deep also.
this signals an intensifying effect at a shallower depth

this is interesting because of the depth being somewhat mid depth and equal intensity of the deeper ones
suggests the potential pushing action might still be ongoing.
if the deep 4.0 to 5.0 plus range continue (say 2 or 1 deep 4 to 5 every day then in around 2 weeks i would expect something like a 7+ around there unles there are other shallower smaller ones to let out the pressure.

these 2 might suggest a different movement seam(or fault)

this is what i call an indicator quake, which is why i am listing it as it is fairly big and un common for this area.
it is not very deep but usually signifies movement accross the plate.

M 5.1 - Southern East Pacific Rise

Time 2016-11-27 22:08:20 (UTC)
Location 50.567°S 114.598°W
Depth 10.0 km

i will be watching for increased or same magnitude quakes at depth
i thought it would be quieting down but it seems to be continuing.
i think that if it stays around 4 to 5 deep 4.5 magnitude quakes per day at great depth we can pretty much garauntee another 7.2 to 7.8 somewhere on the pacific plate boundarys in the next 5 or soo days
assuming that the deep quakes of 4 to 5 magnitude continue.
if the western plate continues to build up then it increases the liely hood of a tsunami event for probably indonesia where there are a great number of fault lines.
given the number of fault lines it might break out earlier at a lower magnitude which will be good if it does.

Alaska continues to have deep movement in the below 4.0 range

example ...

continued deep movement on the eastern side of the pacific plate
close enough to the 4.0 range so i am listing it as continuing momentum

M 3.8 - 7km S of Zonda, Argentina

Time 2016-11-28 21:41:54 (UTC)
Location 31.614°S 68.732°W
Depth 107.0 km

this is good to see mid-range movement on the western side not too big to damage but fairly deep and large enough to potentially ease pressure to equal the eastern deeper movement
there was a similar quake to this 2 days ago which is potentially good news for the pacific plate possibly

M 4.2 - 130km SW of Leksula, Indonesia

Location 4.656°S 125.728°E

Time 2016-11-28 11:50:03 (UTC)

Depth 48.6 km

now what im hoping for is regular 4 to 5 consistant movement around the eastern coast of japan to release the top left of the pacific plate at a magnitude that will not cause damage or be too small to not create a potential build up of force in the top left of the pacific plate.

these ones are a little bit of a red flag for me personally
Southern East Pacific Rise
Pacific-Antarctic Ridge
Southeast Indian Ridge
Mariana Islands

if they were by themselves then not really bothered, however matched with deep movement ONLY if the deep movement CONTINUES then i would begin to expect something bigger

Continued small deep movement in the northern pacific plate border
"alaska" has quite a bit of deep and shallow movement all in the small magnitude, it clearly shows from the regular deep movement that there is general deep movement happening.
lucky for alaska that it does not build up and has lots of very regular small quakes.
note depths appear to be plus 100km
around 80km
and then shallower depths.

lots of deep movement around fiji and some deep movement around vanuatu to the west of fiji
some greater than regular magnitude quakes appearing on the northern pacific plate boundary.
additionally some deep movement in indonesia.

not trying to add jiggery pokery..
just an interesting note. my suspicion is that the indian ridge arctic indian ridge & Pacific-Antarctic Ridge
generally indicate a large amount of plate friction build up when they are triggered.

my guess is that in theory New Zealand should get another 5.5 in the next couple of days hopefully to ease the pressure and match/release the deep fiji/vanuatu movement

i am relatively happy with the japanese plate boundary as long as it keeps up the high 4.0 to 5.0 though it would be nice to see a mid range 5 at 30 or soo kilometers in depth.
i still think there is not enough movement in the mid western side of the pacific plate to match the northern alaska plate border and the fiji movement...
though it looks a bit less hecktick with fewer deep movements on the eastern boundary.

im fairly sure a 6.5(rough guess at a relativ siesmic build up and release) is currently sitting south off the japan coast which needs to probably be expressed through the upper layers closer to maybe 25 kilometer depth.
