Syne, perhaps you do not believe I do not read past your insulting opening statements? However, we can test what you said with an experiment. Try saying the word "peace", before making a reply, and do it every time, before you write a reply. It might take awhile, but sooner or later saying the word "peace" will change your replies. That could be 5 years from now, or it could take only a week before a difference became noticeable but sooner of later the word will have its effect. Try it for a week and see what happens. If there is no noticeable change, we can explore why not.

Personally I don't think it would change a timid submissive person into the anti-Christ. If there is no noticeable change, we can explore why not. That was an interesting reply. Let us follow through with that idea. How do we react to the word "peace"? My reaction is to be mindful of a concept of what human relationships should be, and how I should behave to manifest that concept. I never considered anyone would react differently until your post. I tried the word "war" and realized the word could make me aggressive or it could make me cower. When I ponder the word "war" further, I become aware of great saddness and a determination to do whatever I can to stop war and change the conditions that lead to war. I think my reaction to the word "war" is more complex than to the word "peace". How about you? Perhaps we should move on to how Islam is manifested in several cultures? This is how education can bring about peace by ending ignorance. If the latter, you're daft if you think I'm going to participate in any ad hoc experiment, much less one that could take 5 years. But here's an experiment relevant to the topic. One‐hundred and fifty participants from two universities in Iran took part in a 2 (mortality salience or dental pain) × 3 (social consensus for, consensus against or no information) between‐subjects design.... I've never seen any study of self-priming. Maybe you imagine it to work like taking on an artificial physical posture or expression. You'd have to show me a study. There have been studies that show that having a plan can disrupt subconscious priming reactions, but there's no reason to believe that a person can prime themselves with their own words alone. So, unless you can show otherwise, this seems to be a pipe-dream attempt to insulate Muslims from justified criticism. |
