Will Iran regime fall, or just another umpteenth fail of protesters? (rerun hobbies)

Ho hum...the orange clown made yet another threat to Iran with promises that "hell will reign (sp) down". Such an embarrassment to our country. What is this, like his 4th threat? No wonder Iran doesn't believe him.

"President Donald Trump warned that “hell will reign down” on Iran within 48 hours unless the country opens the Strait of Hormuz hours before he claimed “many” of its military leaders were “terminated.”

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out - 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!” Trump said in a Truth Social post Saturday morning.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. ET, the president shared a video purporting to show a “massive strike” in Tehran, though it was not immediately clear when the attack was carried out. “Many of Iran’s Military Leaders, who have led them poorly and unwisely, are terminated, along with much else, with this massive strike in Tehran!” he wrote."---- https://www.the-independent.com/news/wor...51875.html

This needs to be wrapped up. It's becoming America's version of Ukraine -- there are still Iranian missiles, drones, etc. Another forever war. Too bad Israel isn't big enough that the conflict can just be handed over to them. They're the tail that's swinging the dog at the wildcat, ultimately the source of this, the opportunistic muse or femme fatale whispering cheap film noir plots in Trump's ear.

Someone's falling for the horseshoe-right/left propaganda.
Forever war, large scale troops on the ground, a draft, Israel's puppet, etc..
It's hasn't even been two months.

How long will the Iran war last? See Trump’s timeline shift
https://www.politifact.com/article/2026/...-timeline/

EXCERPTS: The day after the war began, he said combat "will continue until all of our objectives are achieved." Then he threw out four to five weeks (and later six). Sometimes, on the same day, Trump declares victory while saying that the war continues.

[...] When The New York Times asked him how long the United States and Israel would continue the attacks, Trump said: "Well, we intended four to five weeks."

I don't think that the Ukraine analogy is very good because the US had limited objectives in Iran and is well on its way to achieving them.

1. Halt Iran's nuclear program.

Most of their nuclear infrastructure is destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. If they try to do that, our spies and spy satellites will see them doing it and actions can be taken to nip it in the bud.

2. Halt Iran's guided missile program.

While they may or may not have several hundred additional medium range missiles hidden in underground tunnels or someplace, their ability to manufacture more is pretty much gone. They've already fired hundreds of missiles at their neighbors, none of which is devastated.

The last card that Iran holds is their ability to harass shipping in the Strait of Hormuz in hopes of making it impassible. Their way of doing that would probably be drones, primarily. They still have many hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of rather simple Shahed-type drones but their ability to manufacture more is severely reduced.

That isn't really our problem since we don't import oil shipped through Hormuz. Many countries have navies strong enough to counter Iran's drone threat. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have well equipped militaries, have been bashed by Iran in the last few weeks and would be the worst hurt if Iran cut off their oil exports. So keeping Hormuz open would be a perfect job for them. China, Japan and Korea buy most of the oil exported from Hormuz and should do something to protect their supply. The same goes for European countries that used to be major powers back in the long-ago 20th century. It's time they arose from their socialist slumbers and rediscovered their manhood.

If a world coalition was devoted to keeping Hormuz open, I'm sure that the US would willingly contribute. But we aren't going to do it all by ourselves, while the world reaps the benefits and criticizes everything we are doing. (That's the European way...)

CC! If you really think that Bibi Netanyahu is a femme fatale, you have been drinking way too much of the democrats' transgender coolaid!

How you're comparing that to Ukraine or a "forever war" is anyone's guess.

Yes, no plan survives contact with the enemy, and even timetable-wise, you want to keep the enemy guessing. At first, they thought they just had to withstand a 4-5 week assault. Having not fared well so far, now it's time to demoralize them, with new timetables.

Both Trump and Hegseth have repeatedly said that nothing is off the table. That includes staying longer.

The left doesn't have a monopoly on being against this war. In fact if you check the polls most Americans (three fourths!) are against it. Which kinda makes you and your MAGA cohorts the odd man out. Factor in the sentiment of all our ill-treated NATO allies as well as pretty much every oil dependent nation on earth and that makes you and Yazata the brainwashed sheep of the orange clown cult. And history will be on our side.

The orange clown extends the deadline for Iran again. What a flake..

"U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday appeared to push back his deadline for Iran to reach an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, posting a vague message simply reading “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!”

The new deadline, 0000 GMT Wednesday, would push back his ultimatum on Tehran by one day, after which Trump has vowed to destroy the country's power plants and bridges.

In a social media post, Trump vowed to hit Iran's power plants and bridges and said the country would be "living in Hell" if the Strait of Hormuz, crucial for global trade, isn't opened by Tuesday.

Trump has issued such deadlines before but extended them when mediators have claimed progress toward ending the war, which has killed thousands, shaken global markets and spiked fuel prices in just over five weeks.

"It seems Trump has become a phenomenon that neither Iranians nor Americans are able to fully analyze," Iranian Culture Minister Sayed Reza Salihi-Amiri told visiting Associated Press journalists in an interview in Tehran, adding that the president "constantly shifts between contradictory positions."

The war, which erupted on February 28 with deadly US-Israeli strikes on Tehran, has engulfed the Middle East and convulsed the global economy.

Iranian missiles have hit Israeli cities and economic infrastructure in the Gulf, sending world energy prices soaring."
