Testing...testing...

The mystery deepens.
Okay, it shows as ''video unavailable'' on my laptop, but it shows up on my phone. The link reads exactly the same on my phone, as it does above.

Oh well, at least the link works. ^_^

Not showing for me (in the OP). OTOH, only the Tommy Emmanuel vid I embedded is a fail with respect to what I submitted the previous two pages back. Syne's vimeo vid works, but not the rest (sans what's aforementioned).

It may be the recording industry stuff they're targeting, letting the independent endeavors slide. Gabriella Quevedo, for instance, is more or less doing her own thing with assistance from Taylor guitars. Whereas Tommy Emmanuel fits into the other category.

Nah, still makes no sense if no videos at all are working for some. There seems to be no single mundane reason that can resolve the spectrum of variations.
It seems to be hit or miss when it comes to what videos show on my laptop (I'm using a Chromebook if that helps) - Every video shows on the previous page, except for post #502 of yours, CC. What is this wizardry? lol

But, all videos show on my phone. (and the links take me to the video so, there's that)

I wonder if it's the ''no cookie'' thing showing up in the link. There's no link under Syne's video in post #510, not sure if he deleted it, or if it doesn't display because it's vimeo.

I just noticed that the link you quoted from my video post above shows differently than the link under the video itself. (And I quoted my own post to test it (just previewed it), and it ''changed'' the link, too.) ''No cookie'' disappears when quoting it. I wonder why it morphs into a different link upon quoting it. That's really odd.

Okay, same crazy thing as last night. I'm using Opera's built-in proxy now and the recent vid you embedded -- plus all those a couple of pages back -- are showing now. Doing a geolocation check, that proxy is based in Ashburn, Virginia.

So there we go. For some insane reason Ashburn gets an exemption for the whole lot, though the usual proxy extension I use (on Firefox) garners a handful of exemptions, too.

I've read a little about Opera's built-in proxy and it sounds iffy, so basically this is only showing because of the geo-location? (not simply because you're using Opera's built-in proxy at the moment) I wonder why though, that's crazy. lol

Opera is based in Europe and cycles through several different proxy locations around the world. So another user won't necessarily get the Ashburn, Virginia one. I'm surprised it's what I'm still on two nights in a row.

The real significance here, though, is that using a proxy for non-mobile computers seems to get at least a few (and sometimes all) the embeds to work.

Though why remains an enigma. But it's a norm for television and movie websites to block content for visitors from "foreign" countries -- they're supposed to use their regional versions, if the company provides any in their native homeland. They often detect VPNs when users try to get around such that way.

"Some VPN services also offer virtual locations. That is, servers that aren’t located where they seem. For example, a server may have a US IP address, and so provide access to US-only content. But it’s actually located near the user, or in some intermediate location, with good connectivity to both user and content server."
Decided to look up Ashburn VA. 70% of the world's internet traffic flows through this place, what? Big Grin

Arguably makes sense that Opera would have one its options for North America there. But it's not what will show up on a geolocation check of other proxies I've tried (though somewhere along the maze this or that one may pass through the "bullseye of America's Internet": Ashburn).
