If you can ''prove'' God's existence, then it wouldn't be a matter of belief vs disbelief, or faith. There are so many religions and ways to view God, because perhaps that is how each individual, each culture, each time period, etc...views a deity. Or a set of deities. I think when people try to ''prove'' God to others, it may mean that they simply aren't satisfied enough with their own beliefs. Why does getting buy in from others, make your own faith stronger?

What we might even further ask is why do people need buy in from others in general? Building agreement is a survival strategy. So this may evince an insecurity that motivates such proclamations, and maybe not one of belief alone.
