The laser light dot phenomenon

This is a new anomalous phenomenon that seems to defy explanation. Many have tried to debunk it and have failed. What gives?

"Like the title explains. It's a small bright red dot light, like a laser pointer. We have seen this in different locations around the house, on the wall or furniture. It doesn't move, but if you try to track it down, it disappears.

I immediately go to debunking, there is probably an explanation. It is not a reflection from red lights on electronics. It is not some kid with a laser pointer shining through our windows. I am out of explanations."---Reddit

Mine are always green or blue, but like you said, it looks like a laser pointer that doesn't move at all and disappears whenever I try to investigate. "Found this while looking on the web trying to figure out what this phenomenon could be? Just had the exact experience in my bathroom when getting out of the shower. I keep the room pretty dark and to the left of me about a foot away this bright red blinking light (like the point of a laser) blinked 3 times then vanished!! I’ve seen a blue one before bout 6 months ago but that one had a tail! The closest thing I can come up with is it’s some kind of orb paranormal thing? I've never seen this in my own apt, but once when I was at a tire store waiting for my car to get fixed I saw one on the wall. I was just mildly befuddled as it didn't seem to be coming from any devices in that store.

People criminally point lasers at aircraft. Maybe occupants of the latter are returning the favor. At least the appearance hasn't been followed by the code of the Japanese product simulating our reality at the next level.

Back in the day when laser pointers were a new thing I knew a man who would put a red dot on the pavement in front of people passing his house.. giving them an unjustified sense of insecurity. If the red dot turns up in your bathroom .. the sense of insecurity is entirely justified.
