Hardly, the point was that South Africa has been a rough place for many years with problems that exist from wealth disparity not just racism.
circa 1999 there was an increase in car jackings, which is why that particular item was initially posted up to show the rather nasty and potentially lethal way that some were considering on dealing with the situation. (Notably a white guy.)

Further to that in recent years there has been mass murders from gang hits in public houses. (I doubt Trump mentioned anything about Gangland hits)

It's not predominantly racism thats fueling the problems, just corruption and of course peoples perception (which is more than likely warped by fake-news and social media)

Again I'm not a leftist, I'm actually more centralist when I thinking for myself. So when I see a blatantly one sided shit show not having any counter, I oblige by countering centralisms sake (even if it's a bit devils advocate and satyr based.)

There is a myriad of points as to why Trump raises such stories, mostly to keep people from picking at the things he's got wrong, isn't doing, or has backtracked on. If he keeps the press filled full of witless shit, then he's not getting the much deserved criticism he really needs.

History anecdotally records that Marcus Aurelius "hired" an assistant to whisper in his ear should Marcus be praised, "You're just a man, You're just a man."

Whether it was the truth or not matter not, the point that was made that people in positions of power should remember that they are only human and they shouldn't try to impose being anything more, as it can have devastating ramifications.
