Identity crisis prompts gay suicide

Quote:Ah, but you infer gayness based on those traits.

If you were confident in your sexuality as a straight male you wouldn't be so obsessed with gays and what makes them tick. That fact alone indicates some major issues you have with your own sexuality as several studies have shown homophobia to be an indicator of repressed homosexual urges. Just give up dude and accept your urges. It's natural to who you are and there's no way to change it by demonizing and judging gay people.

Absolutely. As my whole argument has shown, it is homophobia that causes gays to have high risk for suicide, whether the homophobia is in the form of bullying and family rejection or whether it is internalized as self-hatred and shame about their orientation. Religion is a big part of internalized homophobia, raising kids to believe their natural sexual urges are sinful and need to be denied or corrected.

LOL! It's only your self-absorption that leads you to believe that I make any more effort on this subject than any other I debate online. Is interest in debate a sign of homophobia? Rolleyes

But now that you mention it... I have been partial to Johnny Depp for years. But I've freely admitted to that, and other guys I think are attractive, for decades.
Lemme guess... I must be gay if either I could never admit a guy was attractive OR if I have ever found any guys attractive. Is there anything I could do that DOESN'T lead you to wishfully thinking I'm gay?   Dodgy

You haven't shown causation, only contributing factors.

Does internalized homophobia explain harsh rejection based solely on superficial attraction?
Or worse bullying than coming out in the first place?

The same maybe, but why worse? O_o

Good for you. Now accept that attraction you have for good looking males. Follow it along and nourish it and maybe you'll find your own Johnny Depp soulmate someday. It's just human nature and it's all good no matter how you were raised to see it.

Are you trying to convert me, you lascivious lech? I thought gays were supposed to be born that way.
Why would someone born gay need to "nourish" anything?

So I guess you agree that... I must be gay if either I could never admit a guy was attractive OR if I have ever found any guys attractive. There is nothing that DOESN'T lead you to wishfully thinking I'm gay. Go take a cold shower, creep.   Sick

As a gay man, are you completely incapable of recognizing attractive women? Are they all equally unattractive, or should you considering "accepting" and "nourishing" "that attraction"?  Rolleyes

No, it's not, but we all know what trouble you have differentiating evidence, causes, experience, etc..

Where did I disagree that gay-on-gay hate contributes to suicide? O_o

Lot's of men who were even married come out as gay later in life. They got so used to denying their urges and even overcompensating with women that they didn't even know they were that way. Or, they could be bisexual, and just never recognized that side of their sexuality either. Go watch some gay porn and see what awakens within you. I suspect you were raised religious and had your gay so pushed down for years that you built up all these defenses against it, like always demonizing it so it never rises up as something that could attract you. But alas, I'm not inclined to share anything about myself with you. So as for my own inclinations, that remains my business.

Sorry to dash your lascivious fantasies, but I've never displayed any overcompensating behaviors nor sublimated desires...nor the substance abuse, depression, or suicidality of gays. I've happened across gay porn a few times. Sorry, didn't do anything for me. Again, go take a cold shower, creep. (Man, I'm starting the understand how women feel on online dating sites.)

Again, is there ANYTHING you would accept as not indicating gayness?

The total good humored acceptance of gayness by a straight man or woman confident in their own sexuality, but easily bored by going into it much.

So ANYONE who doesn't agree with you (regardless of every other indicator of secure sexuality) must be gay, huh? Rolleyes

No..any male who is homophobic and obsesses over it is repressing gay urges. Women homophobes are different. Maybe they're just neurotic biblethumpers. I don't hang out with them so it doesn't matter to me anyway.

Define "homophobic" and "obsesses".
Now tell us why you feel the need to project your sexual orientation, internalized homophobia and all, onto others.
Can you cite any sources about women homophobes being different?
Or do you only care about projecting your sexual orientation on the gender you're sexually attracted to?
