Hear! Hear!
Things are changing, though, MR. Maybe Syne just needs a little exposure. This looks good.

That looks like a good one SS. Here's a clip from a great Lifetime movie I saw once called "Prayers for Bobby."

Great speech but don't hold your breath.
Here’s a new quote for you. "You can’t change someone who doesn’t see an issue with their actions." I'll see you later, MR. (Jan 18, 2019 12:38 AM)Secular Sanity Wrote:(Jan 17, 2019 11:27 PM)Magical Realist Wrote: He can take his "pity" and shove it. masterful piece of historic culture.
Apparently the teen girls are busy being passive aggressive again.

Not discernible with available info implies nonexistent, while not discernible without any available info is inconclusive. But if you don't like that one... A principal goal of brain development is to produce the necessary neural architecture for integration of information from the external environment with internal cues that reflect important aspects of an animal’s physiological state. This integration allows the elaboration of adaptive behavioral and physiological responses that are essential for an individual’s survival, as well as for propagation of the species. From an evolutionary perspective, the most adaptive physiological responses are those that ensure successful reproduction. The long-term consequences of adaptive behavioral profiles that enhance survival are of little significance if an animal lacks the reproductive fitness necessary to pass on its genome. I would be interested if anyone had any studies to back up your assertion that young and old homosexual relations were primarily, or even significantly, cause by peer group pressure. Like, have these relations decreased as social acceptance has increased? When's the last time you were actually out in a society enough to experience negative behaviors that could be positively tied to your orientation? I may have accidentally come across a photo of you online once, the tentative recognition purely do to knowing your real name from back in WebtTV days. You looked quite robust and had a face arguably echoing the intimidating characteristics of a movie action/adventure protagnonist. Which is what has been so silently amusing about Syne infrequently and condescendingly referring to you as "little buddy". If the two of you ever had a physical confrontation, you could probably break him in half. Not implying that you deliberately would or even be receptive to such masculine contests, only that you appeared to have the bodily qualifications and potential to accomplish it. ~ (Jan 18, 2019 10:09 PM)C C Wrote:(Jan 17, 2019 11:27 PM)Magical Realist Wrote: Homophobes like Syne are the only ones around still who seek to slur gay people as mentally ill victims of some twisted sickness or perversion of nature. I am 6 ft and 225 lbs. Not at my ideal 200 weight. A gay friend of mine once told me I looked like I was married with 10 kids. But as out of shape as I am, I probably could assert myself in a forceful way if it ever came to it. Not all stereotypes of weak effeminate gay men are true. From your link: "This article is in need of attention from a psychologist/academic expert on the subject. Please help recruit one, or improve this page yourself if you are qualified." My sourse had a Ph.D. in psychology. Thank you very much. But if you don't like that one.... Quote:It is often assumed that animals do not have sex for pleasure, or alternatively that humans, pigs, bonoboes (and perhaps dolphins and one or two more species of primates) are the only species that do. This is sometimes stated as "animals mate only for reproduction". This view is considered a misconception by some scholars. [1] [2] And if you're so fond of evolutionary psychology... Quote:Almost everyone misunderstands the theory. Contrary to popular belief, the gene-centered theory of evolution does not imply that the point of all human striving is to spread our genes. With the exception of the fertility doctor who artificially inseminated patients with his own semen, the donors to the sperm bank for Nobel Prize winners, and other kooks, no human being (or animal) strives to spread his or her genes.—How the Mind Works by Steven Pinker Homosexuality isn’t going against some grand design. It isn’t unnatural. Animals have sex for all sorts of reasons, pleasure being one of them, and so do we, but we’re the only creature that’s aware of the consequences. We’re wired for copulatory behavior, aka SEX. You are accusing me of being anthropomorphic but you’re doing it on a much larger scale, sweetie. Evolution doesn’t have a grand scheme, silly boy. It doesn’t work that way. Natural selection doesn’t even necessarily promote behaviors that are good for the species as a whole. That’s a common misconception, as well. Evolution doesn’t have foresight, intentions, or a purpose. Do you have an urge to donate your sperm? |
