Security guard spots ghost

Is the original, untouched CCTV footage available? Problem with this apparent smartphone capturing of the latter is that skeptics can simply assert it was doctored by one of the many video apps or online editors out there (barring a verified neutral party without vested interest having done the smartphone copying and transferred it online, rather than the security guard). Of course, depending on however much of a mediating process transpires between wherever the original footage is stashed and making a version of it available to the public, the same vulnerability could also apply.

I couldn't find any other footage. I'm assuming this was taken by the guard to show to others.

Was this a first time occurrence? Are we dealing with something that's been happening on a regular basis?

I thought this was closed circuit tv, seemed a little shaky.

Possible puff of smoke or mist intermittently emitted by something in a nursing home, occasionally enduring long enough to waft down a corridor? Not an expectation to have a security guard react to such immediately as if it was a ghost, especially if it was a not-quite-so-rare occurrence in the facility. (Setting aside planned shenanigans.)

Internet apps, tutorials on photo shopping plus CCTV shaky and follows the apparent cloud. All too orchestrated. The front of desk could easily hide someone blowing smoke, which is coincidentally what this supposed sighting appears to be of.

I sincerely doubt someone was playing a trick on a security guard late at night. And I don't buy the non-dissipating cloud of gas that moves straight along the vector of the hall and then turns right into an adjoining hallway. Gas doesn't do things like that. Paranormal investigations otoh show that mists are a common paranormal phenomenon.

Some place mentioned that it was a smartphone or mobile device pan and scan of the original CCTV footage. Which would account for the narrow width, tracking of the cloud, and jitters. The bane of these viral vids is that they provide few or no non-anecdotal background details.

If the "artifact" was introduced by later video editing of the copied clip, then of course the guard was also putting on a planned performance and thereby would presumably also be a culprit involved in the former. What would help clear him of that is if his job nevertheless doesn't allow him personal access to the stored CCTV footage -- if he needed approval from administration to view and copy it -- and whatever staff member(s) accompanied him who likewise saw the original footage at a time prior to any potential, future tampering of his pan&scan version (i.e., they either saw the "cloud" slash whatever on the original footage or did not).

Here's one or two more sightings below that he has had of it since the first.

His Facebook account could be the sole source of information for what these quasi-tabloid websites are reporting. If there are other workers there commenting on his FB page (along with friends & relatives), then that could be the extent of the corroboration for the setting and background details for all this.

EDIT: Quite frankly, the more clearly I see the thing and its motion, it does look like the kind of blurry patch I could tediously insert into the individual frames of a very short clip or sequence even without elaborate video editors automatically doing the grunt work. His defense, again, would be if it is already there on the original CCTV footage. (If there is any such to begin with, as opposed to an accomplice directly holding a smartphone in the distance.) -- Ah, I keep forgetting those security films having missing gaps that give moving objects that artificial, herky-jerky appearance, though.
