You know exactly what I mean, you word twisting little shit. They believe that without god, bad things are possible. When I experience an unfortunate event, it’s either god’s wrath, or the works of the devil, but all of their misfortune is god’s will.

I just found out how creepy drones really are.
I went kayaking with my oldest son yesterday. We were nearing an old abandoned train bridge. There wasn’t another person in sight. Before we went under the bridge, I started paddling backwards because I heard something that sounded like the noise emitted from high-voltage power lines. I said to my son, "Wait a minute. Do you hear that? What is it?" It was a friggin drone and it was following us. We looked around and didn’t see anyone.
Privacy laws that apply to video capture are allowed where there are no reasonable expectations of privacy, but those things operate well above eye level. Normally, you wouldn’t be able to see down into my kayak.
I thought it was really creepy.

Don't project you own desire to intentionally twist words, deary. I don't know what you mean, hence the question. Now it just seems like the question hit a little close to home and you're avoiding it with ad hominem. If you're going to pretend that the personal affront is equivalent "if the tables were turned", then that quite literally seems to imply an equivalence of personal investment. So...do you want to answer the sincere question, or just let people draw their own conclusions? O_o
Do they really believe some things that happen to some people are outside of god's will, or is that just how that describe differing situations?
Most Christians I've known say everything is god's will. Part of that whole omnipotent thing.

And? How does that show "apathetic patterns of behavior"? O_o I can still care about the general well-being of my fellow man (including basic social niceties) without any regard for their particular sensitivities (which I'm not privy to as a stranger). You would have to project your own feelings onto others to even attempt to care about them...the act of which itself disregarding their particular feelings.
Seems to be part and parcel with how you treat your friends. If they don't comport with how you think, you only treat they as well as you treat strangers.

Thanks for illustrating what I just said.

I'll let you look up the actual definition of panentheist for yourself.

Yes, YOU think reason has no place in religion, because YOU cannot manage to successfully bring reason to bear on religion...other than the little petty snarkiness you parade about as reason.
Grow up.

So...you were worried about a drone, but not the bridge someone could have been on?
And what exactly were you doing below the "eye level" of your canoe that you were so worried about...in public...with your son? O_o
Most public surveillance cameras are mounted "well above eye level", so your expectation of privacy with drones should be no different than in any largish city.

Re drones.
I belong to a model flying club (we fly model planes). Increasingly drone 'fliers' have been accepted. Historically flying model planes has required a fair amount of engineering, a fair amount of money, a fair amount of skill (to keep the plane in the air) and a certain type of stupidity to want to do it in the first place. This is a world apart from wanting to put a camera above your neighbours garden (or SS while kayaking). At the next AGM the club will have to choose between my support and the support of drone 'fliers'.
Being there is one thing. Going the same way to the same place can be a bit spooky. Actually following someone is in an entirely different league.

No. I don't have an excessive belief in science. I don’t really think that science is a belief system.

Really? Is God the only one with supernatural powers in Christianity? Nope.

I'm a stranger and you're privy to my feelings.

The bridge was inaccessible, but even if there was someone on the bridge, I would just pass by them. They wouldn't be following me and video taping.
I was in my swimsuit. I’m modest.

I wouldn’t wear a swimsuit in the city. Even if I was on a public beach, I’d feel really uncomfortable if someone was standing over me videotaping me. If a guy was videotaping me from the river bank, it wouldn't be from a bird's eye view, and I could leave.

No. I don't have an excessive belief in science. I don’t really think that science is a belief system. Hence the justified double standard...since differing circumstances usually require differing reactions.

Really? Is God the only one with supernatural powers in Christianity? Nope. Satan could not inflict Job without god allowing it.

I'm a stranger and you're privy to my feelings. I'm privy to the opinions you share here. Are you claiming that these opinions encapsulate your feelings in general?
You sure seem to dissemble when I ask certain questions. So how could they? O_o

Anyone in public with a smartphone can follow and video tape you.

Sounds like you need to adjust your expectation of privacy....you know, instead of seeming to want others to change their own legal behavior to accommodate your sensitivities. Hint, you can always leave any public place.

Sensitivities?
Well, apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks it’s creepy. It can be a somewhat alarming to see a drone flying and filming all there is to see in a remote and natural setting. Lots of state and national parks and beaches are banning them. They disturb the wildlife and it distracts from the experience of natural settings for other park users. All it takes is a few complaints. Good to know, eh?
P.S. WTF???

P.S. WTF??? Then get the local/state authorities to ban them. Otherwise, quit whining about legal behavior.
And get over yourself.

Wow, you really are just that clueless.
No wonder you defined panentheism as pantheism. And you think your so-called friends don't see your hypocritically self-righteous disregard for them.

When I was about 15... a teacher asked a question in class (doesn't matter) and a boy (J*) gave the answer "God could send an angel.". The teacher let the class laughter answer for him. On another occasion a teacher was holding up a piece of wood with the symbol for a transistor painted on it. J* kept asking questions to the point where it became clear he couldn't see how pieces of wood like that could possibly fit into a transistor radio - they were simply too big. In fairness in his muddle of literal metaphorical and figurative he had managed to conclude that the teacher was speaking with forked tongue. We have to wonder whether Syne will ever do the same.

Hmm...new candidate for my ignore list. Those cowards who don't directly address the target of their criticism.
