some people might be worrying about this one, because of the previous pattern.
the 6.1 then 10 days later the 6.9 along the same paralel equidistant from the subduction zone and it is a similar depth to the innitial first one.
can it be classed as an aftershock being 30 days after... hhmm.. possibly.(fingers crossed)

little bit marginal yet i am adding it anyway as a new movement due to the depth.
i think this is not an aftershock

missed this one there seems to be some type of linki have noticed between large quakes and mid atlantic mid pacific ridges regardles of it being shallow at only 10kms
what i have noticed is that quakes in these regions usualy pre date larger more serious quakes to the west.
im guessing a bit in that maybe the massive sea pressure holds the magnitude down and moves the pressure along the plate like it is lubricated so the shallow quake is infact posibly much larger lateral movement compounding existing pressure to the western side.
its not a scientific theory just a rough gues from noticing patterns.

my current concern is for taiwan. there is not much movement there and they have had a fairly deep move but only one.
i am expecting that pressure is probably building up toward that direction.
if they continue to have the 4 to 5 range at varying depths up to and around 50km deep then i think it will dissipate.
maybe the philipines

this is the only thing that has moved in the last 30 days

M 4.6 - 68km ESE of Sulangan, Philippines

Time  2016-12-06 15:40:50 (UTC)

considering the massive amount of deep movement that has been going on for nearly 2 months now in mid pacific there is bound to to be pressure moving in that direction.
lucky for japan they are continuing to have small quakes that hopefully are letting out the plate pressure.

Guam and or the philipine trench are probably getting pressure build up now.

Looks like swarms to me. On the other side of rim of fire, things appear very active. I don't know if this normal?

Peru got hit while I was watching your earthquake link. That is pretty awesome.

We are having awful weather in the northwest. It would be really awful to get hit by a major earthquake in this kind of weather.

lucky for the US west coast that there is lots of little quakes otherwise .. well....
there have been a few bigger than normal small quakes for california and around the cost line, my gues is thats good because the small ones are also continuing at the same time so there is (im guessing) less chance of a build up that would makea larger quake.

pays to keep in mind geological life spans are measured in millions of years and we humans have been around for only a short time and in the cooling time of the planet(although how global warming might effect the world by creating more earthquakes due to higher temperature of the cooling zones of the plates might be interesting.
with the entire sea warming by 1 or 2 degrees that might magnify the loss of ocianic cooling of plate boundarys making them far more active and spuring high rates of lava flow and great strain on the rising side of the plate. effectively lubricating the plates more.
thats just a bit of wild conjective but it seems fairly obvious in a scientific manner.
and thats not relating it to the ice melting issues.

as for your cold snap, the entire country and government needs to be making changes right now to accomadate those type of temperatures as an every day event in winter.
and capturing the ice and snow to use as drinking water.
but thats just my opinion based on best possible outcomes for the population as a whole.
if it all turns to civil war then it will be good for the richist as they divide up all the resources and become a nation of military kings sitting on their private empires.

who knows what the USA people will choose to do as long as it doesnt effect other countrys
