Pfft! I'm pretty sure Zin thinks you're the troll.

LOL How is posting clear video evidence for the existence of Bigfoot "cherrypicking explanations"? Also, how is it trolling? How can I troll my own thread? ![]() (Aug 24, 2025 04:01 AM)Magical Realist Wrote:(Aug 24, 2025 02:20 AM)Syne Wrote: Pfft! I'm pretty sure Zin thinks you're the troll. Did you see the link? So you're saying I'm NOT cherrypicking explanations. I could've told you that.

I'm demonstrating that you're so intellectually dishonest that you might as well be trolling.

"Disingenuous trolling" describes online trolling that is characterized by dishonesty, insincerity, and manipulation, where the troll pretends to have a genuine opinion or question but actually aims to provoke, deceive, or frustrate others to achieve a disruptive goal. This approach involves making bad-faith arguments or feigning ignorance to generate outrage, manipulate conversations, or simply cause distress Three common types of people you’ll encounter all these strategies from are as the title says: cranks, liars, and trolls. Cranks might also be liars, but often they are just insane, so lost in some crazy delusion that they can never escape it, as their brain has deployed all these and other strategies to immunize themselves from any falsifying evidence or argument. They are, in effect, lying to themselves. By contrast, some cranks, and many other disingenuous operatives, are outright lying to everyone else, and know they are; whether for money, attention, influence, or to recruit people to help them effect some social or political program or objective. A third common category are trolls, people who actually don’t even believe in what they are arguing, but are attempting to create outrage or trip people up either merely for the lulz or to convert the result into usable rhetoric (and as such, are not anyone you can ever engage rationally). For example, to catch someone in the appearance of a contradiction, or making a mistake (often trivial), or reacting emotionally, so they can use that to discredit them (by subsequently taking it out of context). This is like the schoolyard bully who beats you until you punch back and then immediately calls in the proctors and accuses you of assault. The strategy is the same. But we can never know. Maybe you are actually as illiterate as you make yourself seem, or maybe that's just a side effect of being a delusional crank. In one recent example, you've repeatedly ignored (couldn't read) the word "hills" to make the straw man that there could be no ridge lift because there were no mountains. In another example, you ignored (could read) the word "deface" to make the straw man that the cost was somehow the primary issue. In none of these cases do you ever apologize or otherwise acknowledge that you accidentally missed something, made a mistake, or were intellectually dishonest. So even when you drop that line of argument, we can only assume that you're dishonest until you don't think you can get away with it anymore, you're actually that illiterate, you're actually that delusional, or you're intentionally trolling and trying to provoke people with your dishonesty. Who knows. Maybe you think it's fun to wind people up, knowingly misrepresenting their arguments so regularly. ![]() Quote:"Disingenuous trolling" describes online trolling that is characterized by dishonesty, insincerity, and manipulation, where the troll pretends to have a genuine opinion or question but actually aims to provoke, deceive, or frustrate others to achieve a disruptive goal. Everything I post I really believe in and provide compelling evidence for and make logical arguments for. If that provokes emotional responses to me, like Zin accusing me of somehow making money off it and being dishonest, that's not on me. People are responsible for how they respond. And when you respond like a troll to ad hom and lie and make unevidenced claims you are responsible for that. ![]() (Aug 24, 2025 06:19 PM)Magical Realist Wrote:Quote:"Disingenuous trolling" describes online trolling that is characterized by dishonesty, insincerity, and manipulation, where the troll pretends to have a genuine opinion or question but actually aims to provoke, deceive, or frustrate others to achieve a disruptive goal. And I've seen nothing that would change his mind. Notice how you continue to avoid your obvious, repeatedly documented illiteracy or delusion. ![]() Quote:Zin seems to think so.
