So why the hell don't they just reveal themselves? Here's the best answer I've found yet:

MN Ike

"It's all in coordinance, they are working together on the disclosure, on the socialisation of the phenomenon. It's done for our benefit. The gradual release of the information is part of a controlled disclosure, instead of a disclosure that creates panic. People of the UFO community who are already in the know, may think this is very frustrating, but you have to be aware that the majority of the people of the World are not paying attention to this reality. So those in charge now, have to be careful and responsible. This is NOT an American phenomenon, it's a planetary changing phenomenon. Be patient and raise your consciousness. The ETs on their side, are not going to show themselves for Contact until we are awake as a collective. until we have raised our collective consciousness to a level where it tips over. It doesn't mean that the whole population of the Earth has to be aware, because the awakening works exponentially. So work on your own consciousness with the awakening and start to talk about it in a controlled and timely manner with the people you know in a responsible way. We've got this, guys! Lets show them that we can handle this in a responsible way."

"the UFO community" has proven it can't. It can't handle the least little pushback in a calm, rational way without resorting to casting aspersions. It has every indicator of religious belief. So while many people would be temporarily surprised to have proof of intelligent alien life, these people show cult-like tendencies. If there are aliens more intelligent than humans, they very likely understand the dangers of being made into gods. If some interpretations of ancient pictographs are true, the aliens have already experienced those dangers.

No...you have it all backwards. It's the enthusiasts, along with a sizeable contingent of experiencers and whistleblowers, who are strictly following the scientific evidence and demanding the release of it. It's the skeptics otoh who are clutching for dear life a religious faith that such things don't and can never exist as that would destroy their little materialistic worldview if not upset the status quo of everything being normal and unchanging. So now that the Pentagon itself is starting the ball rolling on disclosure, everyone is starting to get the message that whoever THEY are that they are real and somehow involved in our future as a species. Baby steps maybe, but Disclosure IS happening, and the disgruntled skeptical fanatics, in little pockets here and there, are sadly losing their grip in what they believed to be their immutable anthropocentric reality.

Aside from the Pentagon and intelligence community, there's zero resistance to this info being released. Everyone is for more transparency on the issue. From the skeptical side, it's in the hope of diffusing conspiracism, and it really doesn't matter in which direction. Either it will prove UFOs/aliens or it will confirm the uncompelling nature of the available evidence. But let's face it, the credulous UFO enthusiasts will continue to create conspiracies to justify their beliefs.

Those of "religious faith" are worried it could destroy their "materialistic worldview"? Does that blatant contradiction really make sense to you?

Generally, religious people are not materialists in the philosophical sense, as they believe in non-physical realities like God, souls, or an afterlife. However, some Christian thinkers embrace a form of "Christian materialism" (or physicalism) that rejects a separate, immortal soul in favor of a bodily resurrection, while still believing in God.

Since you're such an expert on Christianity, which do you think the vast majority of Christians believe?

So far, there's since no compelling evidence of an extraterrestrial "they." Still waiting.

There's nothing axiomatically untrue about a conspiracy claim, particularly if there really has been a 70 year cover up of uap crash/body retrievals by the military. Time will tell if there is one, but with all the ex-govt employed whistleblowers testifying before Congress now as well as the masses of withheld Pentagon evidence for uaps now being released, its starting to appear to be more and more plausible.

A religious faith in a worldview is any irrational and emotionally-based belief in that worldview, regardless of whether that worldview is materialist, supernaturalist, dualist, or even ET based, which you yourself accuse believers of using as a religion. So as usual you contradict yourself on the one subject where all your knowledge is limited to whatever random shit comes up on a 5 second LLM search. Imagine that!

It's the only explanation that fits unless you are claiming these superhuman physics-defying objects somehow evolved on their own as lifeforms or that secret govt agencies have the ability to design and construct such superadvanced gravity-defying totally silent craft like all those metallic/glowing 4 meter orbs they keep seeing and filming all over the world. Is that what you are claiming? Oops. Sounds like a conspiracy to me! lol And then there's all the experiencer accounts of alien abductions and beings seen exiting and walking around landed UFOs going back 70 years all around the world. After Whitley Strieber published Communion he received thousands of letters from fellow abductees all with remarkably identical details.

“It is one thing for the government to reveal that UFOs are intelligently guided objects of unknown origin and another to assume that this means that “they” are here. Should we ever come into more general contact with what I encountered—assuming that is even possible—they will not be offering us plans for a starship, or a trade in exotic electronics. What will be on offer, I would suggest, is a journey into a whole new understanding of reality and the part we play in it. The “alien” is as much a herald from the dark of the universe as it is a signal from the depths of our own minds.”― Whitley Strieber, The Super Natural: A New Vision of the Unexplained

Governments keeping some information classified is not evidence of a conspiracy.
Getting more images and videos of unknown objects doesn't really tell us much.

Oh, you mean a quasi-religious faith in materialism. Got it.
The problem is that it's projection with regard to most skeptics. Not being convinced (an alien/UFO atheist) doesn't really depend on faith, while being a true believer does.

See, you have to make up strawmen to defend your beliefs. There's no conspiracy necessary in misperception, misinterpretation, lack of scale, existing technology, etc.. The first time I ever saw a quadcopter drone move, it immediately looked like how UFOs in the 80s moved, complete with sudden direction changes and seemingly instant acceleration/deceleration. Human perception is well-known to be faulty, in many different ways, and many people have legit mental illnesses.

Remember, even in Communion, he was never sure whether they were aliens or mental phenomena.

In Communion, Whitley Strieber was never entirely sure whether the "Visitors" were physical extraterrestrials, mental phenomena, or interdimensional beings.
While the book is widely recognized as a seminal alien abduction account, Strieber purposefully used the neutral term "Visitors" to avoid concluding they were conventional space aliens.

Eric Weinstein : "Disclosure hasn't happened yet."

"A Harvard-trained physicist just said what most people in the disclosure community don't want to hear. Everything seen so far, every blurry video, every whistleblower testimony, every congressional hearing, none of it counts as real disclosure. Eric Weinstein has drawn a line in the sand, and by his measure, the starting gun hasn't even fired yet.

He calls it a two-era framework. And once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Era A is everything the public has been shown for decades. Ambiguous photographs. Low-quality videos. Stories from credible witnesses that can never quite be confirmed. Weinstein's assessment is blunt: Era A can be dragged on forever. The government doesn't have to do anything. They just keep feeding the cycle, another hearing, another grainy clip, another unnamed official, and the years keep passing.

Era B is something else entirely. It means physical, material evidence handed directly to independent scientists who can examine, test, and publish. Not leaked. Not described. Not classified. Actually handed over. Weinstein says that if Era B ever begins, it could move like lightning. The physics either checks out or it doesn't. There's no room to stall.

His credibility on this isn't casual. Weinstein holds a PhD in mathematical physics from Harvard, has spent years engaging directly with government-connected researchers on the UAP question, and has publicly documented being approached by officials who promised access to evidence, then never delivered. He knows the stall tactics from the inside.

The pattern he describes fits the historical record. Decades of official interest, classified programs confirmed to exist, billions spent, and yet not a single theoretical physicist has been placed inside any alleged crash retrieval effort. The people with the hardest scientific questions have been kept furthest from the door.

Some researchers believe Era B is being deliberately withheld, that the evidence exists and the gatekeeping is intentional. Others argue there is nothing to hand over, that Era A is all there is, and the system keeps the ambiguity alive because the ambiguity itself is useful.

Eric Weinstein's question cuts through all of it. If real disclosure ever begins, you'll know it instantly. So ask yourself: have you seen anything yet that could only have come from Era B?"

And that's what skeptics are waiting for. Actual evidence, in hand. Not hearsay and iffy images.
