General Bonespurs is having a hissy now because the countries he invited to join in his own personal bombfest won't come. The general response was basically "Go fuck yourself. This isn't our war." Now there's some smart national leaders we could really use here in the states!
No one was asked to bomb anything. He only asked for countries that rely heavily on oil through the Strait of Hormuz pitch in on protecting shipping traffic through there. Protecting your own national interests really shouldn't be a big ask. But as we've seen, Europe will panic about Russia and not lift a finger, so why would we expect anything else in this case?
You really can't protect oil tankers unless you're ready to shoot at those who are attacking. That's pretty much a given. European nations have no interest in supporting Trump's imperialist policy, especially after he stupidly said he will invade Greenland.
Well, if they don't have missile/drone intercepting weapons, that might be so. Maybe they should buy some from the US.
Their economy's loss if they just want to eat the higher oil prices.

Trump asks for things without considering the Logistics, Manpower and cost issues.
Riding around in a ship costs fuel, and any US logistics vessels are not going to be supporting an "Ally" doing the job, so an Ally has to bring their own supplies which means a logistics chain.
If a ship is lost, who's going to rebuild it? (Considering the shortest timeframe for a replacement Frigate is around 11 months with a fully supported war economy)
As with most plans, if something isn't working by hitting it head on, you have to rework your strategy otherwise you will fail by not learning to stop attempting to use the same flawed tactics and expecting different results.
If he goes back to talks with them, he won't be able to hit them again using suprise attacks without further international backlash, so thats weakened any leverage through talking (and likely make it questionable he could be trusted).
Maybe there needs to be more psyops. If the internet is blocked outright, perhaps creating offshore routers to undermine their blocking would help get people to resist. Even then though you'd be asking civilians to do the job of a military without weapons, training or any likelihood of success without support.

So these countries are too poor to protect their own self-interests? Managed decline, huh? Even after the supposed existential threat of Russia, these countries still can't be bothered to have the wherewithal to protect themselves. 9_9
Democrats spent years talking and giving money to Iran... only for them to pursue the nuclear weapons all the talking was suppose to stop. IOW, talking was never going to work. It didn't slow down the funding of terror proxies either.
No one is waiting around for international approval. Like the Iran nuclear deal, that would just be a lot of talk (like Starmer currently wants to do with European allies) with zero productive action.
So you can't defend shipping traffic off the shores of Iran, but you want to park internet routers there? 9_9
Iranians have already shown their willingness to revolt, even when it cost them thousands of civilian lives.

When did that happen? Here's a chart of the current percentage of renewable energy by European country. Looks pretty good to me:
"All four living former U.S. presidents denied President Donald Trump’s claim that one of them privately supported his attack on Iran.
Trump said on Monday that he had spoken with a former president who told him, “I wish I did it,” referring to the military strike. But aides to Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden told media outlets that none of them had spoken with Trump about Iran or endorsed the action."
