The Ukrainian government has acknowledged that Lysychansk was lost yesterday. They seem to have successfully withdrawn all of their troops from the city.
The Chechen mercenaries were talking earlier yesterday about Ukrainian soldiers holed up in Lysychansk. But later in the day the Chechens boasted the city was captured. It appears that they expected more resistance than they got and had been ready for intense urban street fighting. The Ukrainan military command was making it sound like there were troops there when there really weren't. That made the Russians more hesitant to rush in quickly and give the Ukrainian army several hours to withdraw their covering force soldiers in good order. And here's a photo taken from a helicopter of Snake Island immediately after the Russians evacuated it. This photo shows a Russian Pantsir-S1 and what appears to be an accompanying radar left behind. The Pantsir is a medium range point-defense SAM that looks to be roughly equivalent to the US/Norwegian NASAMS that the US recently agreed to supply in very small quantities to Ukraine. (The US loves to boast about all the great equipment it is supplying to Ukraine. But the numbers of systems is often too small to be game-changers on the battlefield. Reportedly only 2 NASAMS systems are being transferred. That might be great for defending the government buildings in Kyiv or a single military base somewhere, but it won't change the course of the war. (Ukraine needs 20 or more.) There are rumors that Ukraine has captured 3 Pantsirs intact.

The images reportedly show Ukrainian artillerymen destroying a Russian Pantsir-1S missile system. The system entered service in the Russian military in 2012 and is designed to protect a limited area against enemy aircraft. The footage was obtained from the Ukrainian Joint Forces Task Force, along with a statement, on Saturday, 2nd July. The images were also relayed by the General staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A RUSSIAN ammunition warehouse EXPLODED in a huge fireball after being 'hit by Ukrainian forces' defending Donetsk. This footage shows how Ukrainian forces reportedly hit a Russian ammunition warehouse in the Donetsk region at night, causing a massive explosion.

Some extraordinary video of missile vs missile action in the sky over the large Ukrainian city of Dnipro. In this engagement, the Russians fired seven cruise missiles at targets in Dnipro. Ukrainian SAMs managed to hit six of them. The remaining missile destroyed a house.
