An extroverted person typically ''needs'' to recharge through being around others, as opposed to being alone. Would you still categorize yourself confused, as an introvert?

In other news, I've noticed ''The Science Forum'' is turning into a bit of a ghost town. I posted on there earlier, and it's one of the few posts since May. Sad That made me sad, I remember a few years ago, when that forum was so fun. Hopefully, it'll bounce back...maybe it's because everyone's dealing with Covid.

Many of the forums during the summer would always have a reduction in posting, especially on sciforums. It tied mostly in with the academic year, both students and most tutors alike aren't boxed inside an institute looking for some form of escapism (or answer to a question) during the summer.

Covid has of course effected the length of the academic year this year though, so it's had reaching consequences in that area.

That’s a good point but it’s never been this bad. I believe the owners abandoned ship two or so years ago, so it’s a life boat now. Sad

It took me about 50 years to work that out.

I used to think there was something wrong with extroverts. My first girlfriend was an extrovert - I wanted her to be like me - she wasn't. I was too young and too stupid to understand the .. problem.

Mrs C2 is an extrovert. During lockdown she needed me (anyone) to recharge her and I needed to be left alone to recharge myself. We have got through it (hopefully) - but only just.

The bungalow is a worry. Our previous houses have had stairs and places for me to hide in. In a house with four rooms and no stairs there's a thin line between us being able to live together and not.

(Sorry for the tangled web your about to read, some information is relevant although I did tangent a fair bit)
From what I remember of a background check on "thescienceforum.com" some years back. The "owner" (well technician?) was located somewhere in India. The company linked to the website claimed to be a think-tank. What conclusion I came up with which might be wrong was the likelihood that the forum was started originally with the attempt to leach the IP (intellectual property) from people and then sell them on to corporates for profit.(at least that's the kind of vibe I got from the data I looked at)

That's why sometimes coming up with ideas and sharing them while being cool in one way can have drastic repercussions. There's been a number of times I've held back on mentioning ideas for that reason alone considering the potential past rip-offs from blurting online.

It does open the proverbial can of worms though in regards to the whole TOS (Terms of Service) that is expected of a forum. Basically anything you post here outside of Private Messages or the members only subforum is publicly viewable which is constantly scraped by bots that are looking for all manner of things from checking on plagiarised material to finding IP to steal. Once something has been said in public I've no control over what happens to the information that can be collected, replicated, doctored and dissimulated. So I should really have a disclaimer that once it gets to that point, it's the responsibility of the poster.

As for this forums existence, it wasn't for IP theft. It was down to Science forums attempting to be strict and not having any casualness about them. The problem with being overly disciplined was that even scientists to my knowledge sometimes want to let their hair down and while they might be professional in regards to a work environment, sometimes they just want to kick back and unburden a little.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we were to learn that most of the posts on SF are the work of just one member going by several aliases. Every thread, same members all parroting one another on their power trips. It’s kinda boring, now.

Beer w/straw is a name I recognise from the Fivedoughnut army on the old Physorg forum - there may well be some or many of his sockpuppets on SF.

I’ve often wondered if pjdude1219 might be Bell’s sock.
