Another hurricane is brewing up in the Gulf of Mexico. This one just passed the western tip of Cuba today and is apparently headed towards the Florida panhandle. It's projected to hit between Panama City and Tallahassee (the state capital) as a category 2 or 3 hurricane on Wednesday. Then it will continue on as a tropical storm across Georgia into South Carolina and then North Carolina, threatening to drop more rain on those areas that are still recovering from flooding after Hurricane Florence. The FL Governor has already declared an emergency and called out the Florida National Guard. I believe that Trump will be declaring a Federal Disaster before it hits. There's a major US Air Force Base (Tyndall AFB) right where this is projected to come ashore, and they have announced the evacuation of all personnel assigned to the base. The base is where they train F-22 Raptor fighter pilots. These are high-value aircraft, so I'm guessing that they are being evacuated out of danger as well. (Or maybe they have really strong storm-resistant hangers or something.)

They are ordering mandatory evacuations of beachfront and low-lying areas around Panama City. Tallahassee (the state capital) is inland a way but is under hurricane warning too, and they expect major electrical power disruptions there.
