This is a big category 4 (strengthening to cat 5) in the Bay of Bengal, headed towards Bangladesh. It will probably graze the west coast of Myanmar as well.
Bangladesh is a very poor and very low lying, swampy, river-delta place. As such, it's very prone to floods. Powerful storm surge has the potential of inundating a good portion of this exceedingly overpopulated country. (More than half the population of the US, crammed into an area the size of Wisconsin.)
This incoming storm has the potential of causing millions of fatalities! It could turn out to the biggest disaster in the world this year.
