EXCERPT: A 22-year-old man accused of killing a Muslim teenager with a baseball bat in Virginia on Sunday is an undocumented immigrant who entered the United States illegally, federal authorities said on Tuesday. The man, Darwin Martinez Torres, who was charged with murder in the death of Nabra Hassanen, 17, is believed to be from El Salvador, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman said. [...] Mr. Torres pulled up on a boy in the group riding a bicycle in the street, the police said. Mr. Torres believed the boy was blocking the street, got upset and drove his car into a curb in a fit of rage, the police said. The group ran, but Mr. Torres caught up to them in a parking lot and chased down Ms. Hassanen with a baseball bat. He hit her with the bat, the police said, and took her in his car. Her body was found about 11 hours later in a man-made pond in Loudoun County....
The girl wasn't even the youth riding the bicycle that he was initially angry at, yet was apparently wearing a scarf.Like George Zimmerman, perhaps the media could project honorary non-Hispanic or non-interracial "white" status upon him, with the special addition of honorary citizenship in that vein. To help avoid a potential dilemma falling out of today's information establishment choices for proper good / evil stereotypes.
Needless to say, the authorities themselves seem to already be doing what they can to keep a hate-crime classification away from the "visitor". Aside from possibly making the move at a younger age to escape gangs, maybe the poor soul came to the US to get away from all that Catholic descended homophobia in Latin American, like James Randi's companion did.[*] He wouldn't necessarily have to be LGBT himself to be abhorred by that extreme level of hostility down there and want to leave it, but still be able to participate in any cherished Islamophobic tendencies in America.
