Search them out. Challenge yourself. Does cognitive dissonance give you a brain freeze or something?

Nope. Just looking for ways to challenge the behavior, not the person.

Even you have to admit that "I'll pray for you" is not only hollow, but down right dismissive.

Why don't you start a new topic on panentheism? Maybe we can help you get over the hump.

Have a good one, Syne.

I already have. And I don't find them compelling, unless you have something of your own (or at least specific) to offer.

Not the person? Didn't you call someone shallow and say "I still doubt that she even prays"? Do you really think doubting someone's devotion isn't personal? Maybe you really just don't understand the concept. So maybe not engaged enough to be contempt...just complete, lazy disregard.

I don't pray, but neither do I think it's shallow or dismissive. You have to have a pretty big insecurity/inferiority chip on your shoulder to presume it's dismissive.

I did think of starting a thread on panentheism, but your "get over the hump" just affirms that no one here is likely to actually learn anything from it. You'd just use it to lazily affirm your own existing biases. That's boring.

Tell you what. You actually demonstrate you can define the difference between panentheism and pantheism, which you would prefer, if forced to choose, and why, and I'll happily start that topic. I won't be holding my breath.

All is God. All is in God.

LOL! Ignoring the mischaracterizing simplification there, which would you choose and why?

Panentheism and you already know why.

It incorporates something that I want.

No, I don't know why. What is it you want?

Maybe seagulls are the wrong sort of bird for this type of feather.

You seem to know a lot about birds, C2.

A few years ago, I noticed a crow in my front yard.  I thought it was dying or something.  It was lying on the ground with its wings spread, beak wide open, and head tilted up towards the sky.  It seemed completely unaware of its surroundings.  I was able to get within a few feet of it before it finally took off.  I looked it up and found out that it was sunbathing.  I’ve never taken the time to see why they do this, though. Is it only to dry their wings or is there more to it? Do you know and do you know if all birds do this?

A long post vanished. Maybe just as well. The bottom line was (is) I think these feathery creatures are (very) sentient and will do things for fun or pleasure or just because they feel like it at the time.
