Oh no, we've completely tanked the global economy, even Western countries are slipping into widespread poverty and poorer countries that once relied on selling to the West are starving.

Who is "slipping into widespread poverty"? I hardly think the shift from oil dependency to energy independence is a cause of that, unless you're talking the oil-rich execs, the Arab sheiks, and Russian oligarchs.

If you don't understand what forcing all global economies off fossil fuels would do, that's on you. Renewables cannot immediately make up for that loss, and most people cannot afford to buy electric vehicles at the drop of a hat. 80% of the world's shipping and agriculture relies on fossil fuels. That literally means almost immediate famines in less developed countries.

And yet you have no problem cheer-leading Trump's tariffs which will only have the effect of increasing the poverty and unemployment rate in countries we trade with. You are no more concerned about them than you are about illegal immigrants. Talk about virtue signaling.

No, fair trade means we don't exploit poorer countries. If those countries allow fair competition, their own citizens pay less for products. If other countries do better, either by lower costs, raising pay, or both, they have less incentive to come here illegally. It's a win-win, both for our own manufacturing and their standard of living.

Was there supposed to be ANY defense of tanking the global economy for a climate agenda incoming? @_@
