If you don't understand what forcing all global economies off fossil fuels would do, that's on you. Renewables cannot immediately make up for that loss, and most people cannot afford to buy electric vehicles at the drop of a hat. 80% of the world's shipping and agriculture relies on fossil fuels. That literally means almost immediate famines in less developed countries.

No, fair trade means we don't exploit poorer countries. If those countries allow fair competition, their own citizens pay less for products. If other countries do better, either by lower costs, raising pay, or both, they have less incentive to come here illegally. It's a win-win, both for our own manufacturing and their standard of living.
