Superbowl LX (AI ads, NE pessimism, alternative half-time show, etc)

AI-generated commercials all over the place (the Dunkin’ one fer sure).

Strange that the score is only 9-0 (right now), but the feeling already is that the Patriots are doomed to not get that seventh and top the Steelers for most SB wins. (Of course, no one has ever triumphed after having a goose egg at the half.) EDIT: Yah, stick a fork in New England. Barring 4th-quarter miracles, they're done.

Checked into the alternative half-time show on YouTube just to see what the numbers were. What seemed to be the main channel had over 5.5 million watching at one point. The other two (not sure what the difference between them was) had circa 200,000 and another one over 800,000. So over six and a half million if adding them together. Have no idea what the non-YouTube sources received.

It took less than a quarter for NFL fans to be sick of AI ads during Super Bowl LX

I think this was the main channel. Returned to conventional views now that it's over.

I didn't watch and this is the first superbowl that I've missed in living memory. It's just that I have no interest in either Seattle or New England. A matchup between them during the regular season is a game that I probably wouldn't watch.

I was tempted to watch to see the ads though. But I expect that the best of them will be on X tomorrow.

Yeah, I checked it out on Youtube too. (The music I heard didn't really move me.) It was streaming on X and I expect that it got a lot of viewers there too.

Just heard bits of two tunes that I encountered at different times, which I had never heard before. Brice Lee performed the "Drinking Class", that I guess was fitting (the proletariat that the Left finally gave up in exchange for hipper marginalized population groups and the morally noble elite classes). Gabby Barrett was singing something that sounded spirited, when the lights were spiraling around her: "The Good Ones", maybe? Of course, it's not just Country Music, I don't keep up with pop music in general, anymore.

Although Bad Bunny's half-time show was in Spanish, it seemed to be a portrayal of Puerto Rican history. Lady Gaga appeared and even sang at one point in it, which was kind of a surprise, since I couldn't find anything forecasting that in advance. Amazing at times how elaborate the stage and props can be for SB performances, and especially how fast they can be assembled and disassembled on the field.

The NFL has been trying to expand its fan base in Europe and Latin America for decades. They may have selected BB's all Spanish show as a gesture toward the latter base. Shakira was a Colombian entertainer who appeared on the SB HT in 2020.

Missed first Q and part of 2nd Q. Took shower while Bad Bunny was on. From what I saw of the game it would 't take much for the bad hare to be good. Go Bills
