Why rightwingers are so triggered by gender nonconformity..

While I do think there is some objectivity in moral/ethical matters, I really don't care what adults do until it impacts children. Whether it's trans-ing them or grooming/indoctrinating them into alternative sexual lifestyles. Having an interest in pushing young children in any direction sexually seems very pedo. Like Yaz, I can handle a wide variety of people, as an adult, and can choose for myself if i want to play along with their dysphoria.

As usual the "protect the children" ruse gets smuggled into the LGBT-phobic argument, just as it was when everybody was up in arms about gays all being child molesters. The fact of the matter is gender-affirming care in the form of puberty blockers and hormone therapy and even surgery DO WORK in relieving the constant daily dysphoria of feeling like you are in the wrong body. Typically only ignorance of this condition would make such therapies seem harmful by contrast, as if something involuntary and even medically appalling is being imposed on the trans teens. 20 studies have in fact shown that the only treatment that works are these therapies, enabling these kids to resume their lives normally and without suffering.

Some folks seem to be more than just 'triggered' - actually about to fire the bullet .. (as of December 19, 2025)

Quote:WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday unveiled a series of regulatory actions designed to block access to gender-affirming care for minors, building on broader Trump administration restrictions on transgender Americans.

I think it's poetic justice that Musk has a transgender daughter. I wonder if he talks to her anymore. I can't imagine hating a whole class of people when one is your own kid.

Only leftists make up this straw man that conservatives hate anyone, including transgenders.
I guess it just never dawned on them that you can both love someone AND disagree with them. Imagine that. 9_9

I don't know what you'd call it if you want a whole class of young people to live in misery their whole lives just to validate your own political assumptions about gender. Sometimes it's more important to be loving than to be right.

It's principles, not political assumptions. And the misery is forcing people to permanently mutilate themselves because you won't allow therapists to treat their disorder like every other disorder.

"For transgender people, starting gender-affirming hormone treatment in adolescence is linked to better mental health than waiting until adulthood, according to new research led by the Stanford University School of Medicine.

The study, which appeared online Jan. 12 in PLOS ONE, drew on data from the largest-ever survey of U.S. transgender adults, a group of more than 27,000 people who responded in 2015.

The new study found that transgender people who began hormone treatment in adolescence had fewer thoughts of suicide, were less likely to experience major mental health disorders and had fewer problems with substance abuse than those who started hormones in adulthood. The study also documented better mental health among those who received hormones at any age than those who desired but never received the treatment.

Gender-affirming hormone treatment with estrogen or testosterone can help bring a transgender person's physical characteristics in line with their gender identity. In adolescence, hormone therapy can enable a transgender teenager to go through puberty in a way that matches their gender identity.

"This study is particularly relevant now because many state legislatures are introducing bills that would outlaw this kind of care for transgender youth," said Jack Turban, MD, a postdoctoral scholar in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry at Stanford Medicine. "We are adding to the evidence base that shows why gender-affirming care is beneficial from a mental health perspective."--- https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2...eople.html
