VIDEO EXCERPTS: So, the European Union wants to cut us off from natural gas from Russia by 2027. [...] But the thing is that here in Europe we always depended on the very cheap natural gas from Russia. It was so cheap that we actually rebuilt Europe after the Second World War based it.

And also plans like this are not going to work out because we really need natural gas. We need it for our industry. We need it to heat our houses. We're still buying because we need it. And right now there's just no other way around. Especially if Germany is turning off good coal plants, and turning off nuclear plants.

[...] A lot of people don't know that, but without the natural gas plants, we would have a brownout or blackout already in Europe. So I don't think this is going to work. ... it will wreak havoc on the economy in Europe, more companies will close their businesses.

[...] Here you can see another article about the gas price explosion in October this year. 22% increase in October, and that's because this year it's really cold. ... the spring was very cold, the summer was very cold, and also the autumn started very cold, and now the winter is also cold.

Therefore, not only is natural gas consumption increasing, but also the electricity price. [...] I've read reports that some people have turned off the heating completely, and instead they are using wood burning stoves. Now, while heating homes in Austria with a wood burning stove is still not a problem, it will soon become a problem in the UK.

In the UK, they are starting to think about banning wood burning stoves. And here they're saying wood burning stoves could face partial ban in Labour's updated environmental plan. Wood burning stoves are likely to face tighter restrictions in England under the new pollution target...

Whether or not Germany burns coal for a few years will make no difference to anything. Compared to buying Russian gas and oil IMHO the lesser of the evils is burn coal to generate power.
