Quentin Tarantino on "Sorcerer" (cinema hobbies)

No CGI back then. If you're not awed by the bridge scenes -- and the dangerous risks everyone involved took and did indeed suffer from -- then rush to the emergency room to check for presence of the brain rotting parasites that apparently infected the critics and movie-goers back in 1977.

When it's not having a run on Tubi TV or Pluto TV, Archive Dot Org probably has it. The restored version came out in 2014.

I will watch it. Nothing like the grueling conditions of rain forest monsoons to elevate the degree of effort and commitment required for great filmmaking..

Just realized that a hi-def version of "Sorcerer" is on YouTube (two hours plus): https://youtu.be/3pP6HPfc0Ww

While the one on Archive Dot Org would be watchable without ads, it is an old 4:3 screen version dating back to the DVD or even VHS tape cassette era.

No guarantee that the YouTube offering is the restored version, but it surely has less chance of missing footage than the dinosaur cut of it.

Obviously, it's another thriller film of Friedkin's like The French Connection and The Exorcist. So it's not going to appeal to moviegoers who solely prefer quiet, human interest films. But even with respect to the latter audience, it's worth checking out the FX of the bridge scenes. Again, no CGI and AI-generation back in 1977.

Restored version of what was the original trailer:
