As long as I'm a free thinking human being, my opinions on America are relevant. You don't get to decide who's views are irrelevant. Even people from other countries' views on America are relevant. You aren't God.

No, you don't get to decide what others find relevant. I do get to decide, because I'm an American and I'm active in our politics.
You, and foreigners, are just sports fans who can't even be bothered to go see a game in person, or even pay extra for the sports channels, much less bet money. You have no skin in the game.
That literally makes you irrelevant... which is why you'll keep whining about it, because you're literally impotent on the subject.

No..you don't get to decide who's opinions are irrelevant. And you certainly don't have to be American or involved in politics to have a relevant opinion about America. Millions of Americans aren't involved with politics. And since America is part of an international community and how it is run directly impacts other nations, everybody's opinion about America is relevant. Just look what Trump's tariffs are doing to economies all over the world. And having relevant opinions has nothing to do with paying for anything. lol That's a really stupid analogy.

What I actually meant was that the opinions of a fairly sane American (specifically MR) are as interesting and relevant on a UK forum as those of, er, any other American.

Just look what Trump's tariffs are doing to economies all over the world. You're literally "not connected to what is being done" (irrelevant) because you didn't do anything (vote). In a representative republic, I'm not sure how else you imagine you're connected to what's being done in politics. Impotent virtue-signalling hashtag politics? If it's not connected with what's being done politically, it's irrelevant, by definition. It has zero impact.
And if it has no impact, it's just like assholes; everybody has one. Meh, meaningless.

Wow, you don't even understand how analogies work. Voting has nothing to do with paying for things. The analogy was about having skin in the game, which I literally said. 9_9
Since the opinions of foreigners are irrelevant to US politics, I guess an equally irrelevant American opinion is a perfect match.
Not like either are terribly discerning.

LOL Don't need to be connected in any way with anything to have a relevant opinion on it. I was never a scientist but still have relevant opinions about science. I was never a film director yet still have relevant opinions about films. I was never a poet but still have relevant opinions about poetry. And on and on it goes. You seriously think your mere act of voting makes your opinion more relevant? How? All you did is fill out a ballot for a candidate. So fucking what? It doesn't make you more entitled, knowledgable, or qualified about anything in any way. To even think so is simply idiotic. Quit embarrassing yourself with stupid ad hoc claims that make no sense.

If you don't have skin in the game, your opinion is like assholes. Your opinions of science are laughable, mush less relevant. If you pay to watch films, at least you have some skin in the game. I have been a poet. Your opinion is like an 80 year old's opinion of rap music... out of touch with the source or process... just another asshole.
I have skin in the game because I own my vote. I stand by it and defend it. Since you didn't, you can weasel out of anything. You have no skin in the game and nothing on the line. You can just plead innocence because you never committed to anything. That makes you irrelevant.

No it isn't dumbshit. Anyone who takes the time to study a subject and learn all about has relevant opinions in that field. Like I said you don't have to earn the privelege of having relevant opinions. No "skin in the game"..lol You don't have to be involved in the field in any way to have relevant ideas and knowledge about. So you were a poet once? Who are your favorite poets? Where did you study poetry at? What have you published? lol Don't bother answering. We already know the answers.

Nope..just voting for someone doesn't mean diddly squat. It just means you cast your vote for a candidate, which could be for any reason. Because you like him. Because of his campaign promises. Any reason whatsover. It doesn't make your opinion on how to run the govt any more relevant than anyone elses. Skin in the game is irrelevant. Relevance of opinion is a given for anyone who knows anything about a given subject. And your's aren't anymore relevant than anyone else's.

I had a poem published in a collection, when I was in high school. You think people have to "study" to become poets, like Dickinson? See how out of touch you are? Like music artists, I don't have a favorite.
I'll say it again. Opinions without any skin in the game are like assholes. Maybe if you'd ever accomplished anything in your life, you'd understand that.
Relevance is earned. Just like how we talk about whether a celebrity is relevant or not, their relevance is dependent on their popularity, media presence, capacity to influence people or trends, etc.. Being relevant or having a relevant opinion is not a right... it's earned.
I earn mine in politics by voting and then having the intellectual honesty to admit to it and either stand by it or honesty admit it a mistake. For example, in Trump's first election, I knowingly threw my vote away on an independent candidate. I wish I hadn't, but I didn't trust Trump at the time, him having donated to Democrats for decades. His talk and promises weren't enough at the time. But once he had a track record in politics, that changed. Admitting to either, opens me up to criticism of attack, but I own it.
You not voting means you own nothing... and can weasel around... with your opinion no better than an asshole.
