Back 2016 (when he disliked DT), Vance even peddled the "Trump dictatorship" stuff and the other common memes that mainstream media experts still use today. It didn't happen during DT's 1st term, but I guess hope springs eternal. Kind of like the abominable failures of Marxism -- the people's paradise will still happen someday, with the Lord Protectors (literary intellectuals as ruling shepherds) finally bringing harmony and radical equality to humankind.
Lots of people didn't support Trump in 2016, because he didn't have a conservative/republican track record.
The difference now is that he does, so many are no longer skeptical.

Here's something from the internet that may or may not be real. If it is, it's potentially huge. It's definitely something to make conspiracy theorists go 'hummm'.
"A company called Austin Private Wealth LLC shorted 12,000,000 shares of $DJT via a put option. The filing date is July 12th, the day before the assassination attempt."
12 million shares is a huge short position. If this is real (I'm not convinced) then somebody was betting bigtime on the day before the assassination attempt that Trump Media and Technology Group stock price was going to crash.

I would suggest that it's just couch conspiracy buffs searching for evidence of a conspiracy, however I'm pretty sure if you look through the history of transactions you'd likely find more "puts" at different dates. Some people don't just back the opposition of a candidate but want that candidate to know just how much has been backed. (Think of it as a "war of wallets")
It's part of the finanical aspects to a posed democracy (where democracy is actually bought and paid for).
The SEC filing which showed that Austin Private Wealth shorted a large number of shares of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp (DJT) was incorrect and we immediately amended it as soon as we learned of the error.
No client of APW holds, or has ever held, a put on DJT in the quantity initially reported. The correct holding amount was 12 contracts, or 1,200 shares — not 12 million shares, as was filed in error. In submitting the required report for the second quarter of 2024, a multiplier was applied by a third-party vendor that increased the number of the shares by a multiple of 10,000 for all options contracts (not just DJT). We did not catch the error before approving the filing.
We filed the report on July 12 to reflect our positions on June 28. We amended it on July 16.
We deeply regret this error and the concern it has caused, especially at such a fraught moment for our nation. We are committed to full transparency and maintaining the trust of our clients. As such, we are reviewing our internal procedures and our processes with the third-party vendor that assists with SEC filings to better understand how this happened and avoid similar issues moving forward.
Everybody needs to make a big stink about how racist and sexist the Dems are if they don't choose Kamala. (Shoot, the SoB would still be leaving California to be VP, though. Spreading menace and disaster no matter which office he plugs into.)
Rumors to that effect are setting the internet on fire. It's all coming from unnamed "reliable sources", which might be Biden insiders or maybe people who want him out and are trying to pressure him.
Supposedly Biden will announce that he is stepping down from the 2024 nomination this weekend (people are saying Sunday). He will NOT be resigning from the Presidency and his term in office will run until this coming January.
And supposedly he will not endorse Kamala, but will release his delegates in what the democrats are calling an "open primary" conducted not among democratic voters but rather among the convention delegates. There are said to be maybe three others besides Kamala who are being considered in this rushed and extremely ad hoc process.
Kamala is said to be already vetting VP candidates to be her running mate.
