We don't blow up countries for what they might do in the future.

"Might"?
So it was a long shot that Iran would have developed nuclear weapons?

Doesn't matter. Do we imprison suspects because they MIGHT commit a crime?

An unprovoked international nuclear attack is not just a "crime." It's a war crime and crime against humanity.
Are you saying we should never do anything to stop a credible crime against humanity? We should just wait for the devastation first?

Iran has committed no unprovoked nuclear attack. There was no justification to treat them like they did.

Bombing a country has to have a real war crime committed first to be morally justified. Otherwise any country on earth is justified to bomb any other just because they are afraid they might attack. Which is total bullshit.

So that's a definite "yes" on waiting for the devastation first.

You know, ignoring all the terrorist war crimes and crimes against the humanity of their own people Iran has funded and perpetrated for decades.

It's not our job to exact vengeance on all the wrongs different leaders of Iran have committed. We're not the global vigilante.

Swings and round-a-bouts..

The Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, bought billions of dollars worth of American weapons during the 1970s.

Between 1972 and 1978, the Shah ordered roughly $20 billion in U.S. military hardware, funded heavily by rising oil revenues. By the late 1970s, Iran was purchasing an average of $2.7 billion to $5 billion worth of U.S. military items per year.

The massive influx of high-tech weaponry required thousands of U.S. military advisors and technicians to stay in Iran. This deep military reliance on Washington—alongside severe domestic inflation and political repression—fueled widespread resentment and culminated in the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which abruptly ended U.S. arms exports.

Under a 10-year agreement, the U.S. provides Israel with $3.8 billion in annual military aid, much of which is delivered through the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program as grants used to purchase U.S.-made defense equipment

Has nothing to do with vengeance. It's about stopping ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
But I get it. You don't think that's a worthy goal. It's who you are.

That's not why you brought that up. You were justifying their bombing as payback for the wrongs they committed in the past. Wrongs as confused2 showed were largely enabled by us.

You wanna know how to stop future warcrimes? By NOT blowing people up. By diplomacy and conversation and pursuing common interests.

No, I justify bombing by threats in the future (ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity), like Iran getting nuclear weapons. You know, if you bother to read what I literally wrote.

Literacy is amazing!

Iranians, like Hamas or any other terrorists, never negotiate in good faith. Western diplomacy is seen as weakness by Islamists. To them, you don't try to bargain unless you have to, because you're weak.

Too bad you have no theory of mind that can comprehend people who are unlike yourself.
