You think 4 per 100,000 is high? It might be in a country the size of a single US state and the population of only two US states.
The vast majority of countries in the world are far more violent than most Western countries.

It's really the difference between good speech material at a republican event and what is actually true.

I guess certain American cities aren't part of America in MAGA world. Wonder what the gun deaths of America would be if we omit all American cities?

Cities run by soft-on-crime democrats for decades, where they release criminals early and/or without bail, and they keep law abiding citizens from protecting themselves, have produced those higher murder rates. They are part of America, but the federal government has very limited control over states. They aren't part of being proud of America no matter who's in office.

But trying to diffuse the results of their policies to all Americans is lazy and dishonest.
