Definitely an item missing from hubby's tool collection (the repair tool, probably not what goes in it).
Not a screwdriver. The thing that it repairs is taken from a rack. Everyone doing the same thing as you takes one.

Do you have bit sharpening parties?
Here's another old item.
I think you'll get what it is quite quickly, but it had a specific purpose.
What was it used for?
Auction estimate £100 to £150

Well... its a tool that allows you to conect short wicks together... wit a place to store the wick down below by turnin the wick storage handle... an this delux model also has a handle on the base to easily cary the unit from place to place.!!!
So, a wick joining contraption?
For thwarting the wanton and wicked wastage of wicks.
No, but it does have a wick.
They didn't cost much, you know.
£100 is a rip off. It's only silver plate. They will be knocking out reproductions in China for a fiver.
Ok... its a waxed wick lamp that a Holey Man lights an carries around which somehow helps sinners to learn good stuff.!!!
It is a lamp, and it does have a waxed wick, but you don't carry it around. You would generally use it sitting at a table. For a particular purpose. What do you use it to do?
Use the melted wax to seal envelopes.!!!
Gross out company.!!!
Warm you'r tea.!!!
Warm you'r hands.!!!
