Quote:Negotiation is the process of trying to reach an agreement, not an agreement itself. An agreement is the final result of a successful negotiation.

When you say a deal has been largely negotiated (past tense), it means it has largely been agreed on. There is simply no other meaning to it.

No matter how much you may wish it, negotiated will never mean agreed. Learn some basic reading comprehension.
Agreed by most the major regional players is literally largely negotiated... unless you believe that an Iran, without a navy or air force, could prevail against the combined force of the US and all these Middle East allies.

It's just a matter of whether Iran wants to do it the easy way or not. The regime really doesn't have a choice.
Quote:No matter how much you may wish it, negotiated will never mean agreed. Learn some basic reading comprehension.

It has no other meaning. A deal that is negotiated is a deal that is agreed upon. Trump lied.

You really don't need to keep hammering home how little you comprehend simple English. Talk about Dunning-Kruger.

According to your witlessness, a deal couldn't have been "negotiated" and then fail to reach an agreement. Sorry to break it to you, but many deals have been "negotiated" and failed to reach an agreement.

But go ahead, cite definitions to justify your illiteracy.
Quote:According to your witlessness, a deal couldn't have been "negotiated" and then fail to reach an agreement.

Exactly. Now you're getting it. You said it yourself: "No, it doesn't, oh so illiterate one.
In crayon: "Negotiation" is the process of coming to an agreement."

If you didn't cherry-pick that post, I could actually see how you could misread that one. Too bad I immediately clarified it further.
Too bad you still can't seem to comprehend, even what you quote.

The goal of any negotiation is an agreement. Many negotiations do not result in an agreement. Hence it follows that negotiation cannot be the same as a positive result. Otherwise, you're claiming, if an agreement is not found, there was never any negotiation.

Starting to see how dumb that is yet? @_@
Quote:Many negotiations do not result in an agreement. Hence it follows that negotiation cannot be the same as a positive result.

Nope...you yourself defined negotiation as reaching an agreement. If nothing was negotiated, that means nothing was agreed upon. You're idiocy on this is starting to get entertaining.

"To negotiate means to discuss and reach a mutual agreement or compromise with others. It is a process of "give and take" where parties bargain to establish terms, resolve conflicts, or settle on a price."

I said negotiation is "the process of coming to an agreement." An agreement is the goal, but many times the process does not reach that goal.
Again, otherwise, you'd say all failed deals could never have been negotiated (discussed, bargained, etc.), which is nonsense.

Quote:If nothing was negotiated, that means nothing was agreed upon. You're idiocy on this is starting to get entertaining.
That's your own dumb strawman.
Do you at least understand the very simple fact that people can discuss and bargain in a negotiation and not end up agreeing to a final deal?
You know, a basic fact of human existence? @_@

Quote:"To negotiate means to discuss and reach a mutual agreement or compromise with others. It is a process of "give and take" where parties bargain to establish terms, resolve conflicts, or settle on a price."
Since you can't cite your source:

A negotiation does not automatically mean reaching an agreement.
It is the process of trying to reach an agreement, but the outcome is never guaranteed.
Why Negotiations Fail to Reach an Agreement

Walking Away: One party may exercise their BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement) if the deal on the table is worse than their backup plan.
Hard Deadlocks: Both sides may reach an impasse where neither is willing to make further concessions.
Principled Objections: A deal might violate a company's core values or a person's non-negotiable boundaries.

Ultimately, a successful negotiation can end in a polite, mutual decision to walk away without a deal if the terms do not serve both parties.

If nothing is agreed on, then no negotiations occurred. And if as Trump said the deal is largely negotiated, then that means it's largely agreed on:

"Synonyms for negotiated vary by context, but often include arranged, concluded, agreed, or contracted."

So I'll just keep repeating this forever:

"To negotiate means to discuss and reach a mutual agreement or compromise with others. It is a process of "give and take" where parties bargain to establish terms, resolve conflicts, or settle on a price."

That settles it. You're hopelessly illiterate and ignorant of basic human interactions.

Thanks.
