Aviation Week cover from 16 years ago. Elon Musk has this cover framed in his office at SpaceX. (The rocket is an early Falcon 1. The first three failed and only the fourth got to orbit. That was the first entirely private orbital launch. If that fourth try failed, SpaceX was set to go out of business.)
