Has Trudeau apologized to Iran yet for the plane with 63 Canadians on board?

There certainly was the labor of collecting all the dead Iranian-Canadians' body parts and putting them in body bags. Canada needs to apologize for that.

Canada's real crime is being a desirable place for more secular Iranians to attend university and pursue careers. (When they could be living in hovels, praying 37 times a day and chanting "Death to America!!"... damn Canadians...)

They should just stick to insulting the United States and President Trump. That's safe enough in Canada, Canadians love doing it and in fact I believe that it's legally required.

As a Canuck I do hear Trump bashing but not as often as you think. Hey, we have our own guy to bitch about. We are not the nicest blokes on the planet, we only appear that way because we live under what you may call legislated kindness. Like living in a Ms Manners Charm School. Trouble is...the people making the laws all have some archival video footage somewhere of themselves breaking the goddam law. So forgive us if we take a shot at someone beyond our borders from time to time, it’s therapeutic.

When all said and done, I don’t think it’s hard to see a difference between Iranian, American and Canadian philosophies regarding revenge. Granted, we Canadians are not known as the types who can mete out some real violence because we’re smart enough to know we’ll probably get more in return if we do. Or we just let the USA take care of the nasty stuff.

Maybe sooner or later the Russkies will sink a Canadian vessel in the Arctic as our sovereign hold on that part of the world diminishes. What can we do except protest? However we have the USA as a neighbor and IMHO if Russia, or anyone else for that matter, starts kicking us around to grab territory then the Americans  will step in. It is what it is.

Perhaps akin to the gossiped theory of how Dan Aykroyd was able to abide and get along with Chevy Chase, whereas many of the latter's fellow American cohorts could not. Canadians were accustomed to flexing and adapting to neighbors below and above with that kind of "personality". Wink

We know the Murrikins aren't going to let their closest neighbour get stomped on. Yanks don't want trouble north, too close to home. Maybe that's how we got Trump upset, by not paying our fair share for protection. (Sounds like the mob FFS  Wink) States have no choice so I don't mind when they give us shit now and then. I would imagine USA pays close attention to what we do up here, especially in who we allow to enter the country. So far no proposed wall.

Was at the Peace Bridge border on Saturday. Going in, USA border agents asked us a lot more questions than their Canadian counterparts did when I was going back. However when I was in line waiting to enter USA I saw three agents in another gate entrance booth haul some guy out of the car, put him on the ground with guns drawn followed by the canine corps. That booth went from OPEN to CLOSED real fast and I felt sorry for the next guy in line who couldn't move because of the traffic. Oh yeah, the tags/plates on that pulled over auto were American. I try not to get behind American cars because their drivers seem to get grilled even more than we do.
