Vet puts dog to sleep after calling the wrong owner for consent (naming trends)
https://www.ladbible.com/news/animals-ve...t-20191212

EXCERPT: A woman says her dog was mistakenly euthanised after a vet rang the wrong pet owner to ask for consent. [...] It turned out that there was another dog called Ziggy at the same vets, and Martinez claims it was the other Ziggy's owner who was asked for permission to put the dog to sleep.

[...] On her Facebook post, a heart-broken Martinez wrote: "They let a stranger decide my dog's fate. They robbed me the choice of saying 'at least we tried'. I feel so sick and can't stop crying." [...] She went on: "How do you tell a 6-year-old her best friend died and we didn't have a choice to try everything to stop him from dying. This whole thing seriously makes me so sick to my stomach."

However, Martinez says the vet has apologised profusely for the mistake, has waived Ziggy's bills, given her an urn for his ashes and a special Christmas tree ornament with his paw print on. In a later post, Martinez announced she wouldn't be taking it any further, explaining: "It was a honest mistake, they owned it, and are taking steps to make things okay. Ziggy was really sick and from the sounds of it I'm not sure he would've even made it after all said and done. I do wish we would've had to chance to find out though, but life happens and we have to learn to adjust and learn and grow from it. I will forever miss him but at least I know he's not in pain anymore." (MORE)

UK’s first genderfluid fashion store opens in London

INTRO: We are happy to have the chance to interview the first genderfluid fashion retail in London, VERV London. We are pleased to have a conversation with Sannu Shresta, the Managing Director of the brand which is also one of the founders of the brand.

VERV LONDON is the first multi-label retail platform dedicated to fashion that challenges traditional boundaries between menswear and womenswear. VERV LONDON stocks genderfluid clothing and accessories from emerging brands including DRESSEDUNDRESSED, GEORGE KEBURIA, PALOMO SPAIN and SYRO and is the first worldwide or UK stockist for most of its brands.

At the core of VERV LONDON is our determination to challenge gender norms and celebrate individuality and self-expression. We champion fashion that gives a middle finger to traditional gender classifiers. We believe genderfluid fashion represents a new reality where people are not defined by and do not a give a F*CK about their gender and are free to live and dress however they want without conforming to conventional norms.

VERV LONDON exclusively features and supports emerging designers from around the world – all our brands are in their first five seasons or less. In fact, the designers behind WINDOW 00 are still students at Central St. Martin and we also presented the graduate collection of 8on8 by Li Gong, from the MA program at CSM. We really want to champion young independent designers. Our goal is to support talent and hard work and provide a platform for designers who fit our social and creative narrative...
