No..you don't have the right to demand obstetricians perform abortions without being paid. That's ridiculous. They get paid for whatever services they perform. It's part of their job description. And it's part of our capitalistic system.

What part of "the left declares it's a human right" don't you understand? This is playing by their own standards, not mine. My standards would have them treated like hired killers, which is exactly what they are. So not getting paid would be the very least of their problems.

Noone on the left is proposing not paying obstetricians for performing abortions. It is your proposition alone and a strawman. Women also have the right to have babies. Should we not charge for child birth too? It's a stupid idea with no basis in reality.

What's good for the gander...

Are you also going to be the one to tell women they need to store all their eggs, in a building that could possible burn down, taking with it every chance they'd have of having their own children? After all vasectomies have been know to reverse themselves...and forced sterilization is barbaric, with a heavily racist past.

I know, simple logic is beyond the pale. The left has established that the government has the obligation to provide any of their idiotic positive rights, like healthcare, college, etc., even if you cannot afford it. Hence the taxpayers would be forced to do so, against the conscience of a great many. This is tantamount to forcing a doctor to perform an abortion against their will, which even if paid (blood money), is still far worse that simply not paying the people who claim abortion is a good thing...you know, good enough to be worthy of volunteering the time. Oh wait, the killers for hire don't actually believe that, which is why Planned Parenthood has a lobbying arm to secure government funding.

Having babies isn't a right (as the left's notion of positive rights is completely idiotic), otherwise people could simply demand they be given babies. Caring for a child is a privilege and responsibility.

It's still your own stupid proposition which noone in the real world is proposing. And giving birth to a baby is too a woman's right. It's part of having a female body that is your own and under your own control. Case closed.

Relax man, I’m being facetious. My hat is in the woman’s camp. Pro choice all the way. Still, I think I’ll start a lobby to ban male masturbation, fellatio, and wet dreams.....care to join?

Just read yesterday that in Alabama a pregnancy via rape is basically considered something God meant to be. That wonderful piece of wisdom is a perfect example of what I’ve harped about since I began talking on forums...... when theists start adding secondary beliefs to their primary one, in this case believing they know what God wants/thinks, then there is bound to be trouble. Politics and religion never a good combo.

I’d bet these pro-life rulings have more to do with knowing your electorate then anything else. Vote buying at its worst.

labelling the mothers & the doctors as guilty(and playing that game) is a great way to twist and manipulate the debate away from proper social funding of those children's health care and schooling and food and shelter.

No one said anyone else was proposing it, so that's a stupid, lazy straw man.

You need to learn what rights are. Rights are either negative and they oblige inaction, or they are positive and they oblige action. A woman has the negative right for no one to interfere with her pregnancy, but she does not have the positive right to a baby...as neglect, abuse, incapacity, etc. are all valid reasons to take a child away from a woman, like women who give birth in prison. Claiming a woman has a positive right to a baby obliges, at least, the action of securing that child's well-being in the face of potential harm from the mother. That's idiotic and just plain unfeasible.

Unborn bodies are not the possession of the woman any more that any other human life is property. So go ahead, tell us all about the virtues of slavery.

You mean "pro killing human life". Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't make it any less bestiality. Women have all the choice. They can choose to use umpteen kinds of birth control, the morning after pill, adoption, or even just drop the baby off, no questions asked. A guy only has a condom, and if that fails (and the woman unilaterally decides to keep the baby), he's on the hook for 18 years of child support, without any further choice.

Sperm and eggs are not human lives. Learn a little science.

Two wrongs don't make a right. A violation doesn't justify killing an innocent human life. You don't even need to bring god into it to simply value human life. And no, they are not claiming "they know what God wants/think", they are simply accepting what is (without resorting to unjustified killing), as the primary belief of an omnipotent being, itself, makes everything its will. So you're "harping" is just repeated ignorance.

Again, no need to bring up religion, nor any combination with politics, just to value human life. It should be a universal ethic. Voting buying? How ignorant.

Weak. You can do better than that I hope.  Rolleyes

FFS...it’s hard enough being dictated to by people who believe they know what God thinks and wants, then act accordingly, yet they don’t know much about their neighbour at all.

So...that's a hard "no" on learning a little science. Ignorant people can't risk facts.

Again, people don't think they know what god wants. Everything being god's will is just a logical consequence of any possible omnipotent being.
And a good many of their neighbors are just as ignorant as you.

Fact is you don’t know shit about a god. I’m done here.

Go pro-choice.
