I wonder what will be in the history books about this election. And will “the right side of history” be considered all those who agreed with the MSM narrative. <_<

If the left ultimately wins, they will write the history (as if their hold on academia doesn't already), but the US will be a failed experiment in freedom. So the circumstances of a left-dominated future will be a clear rebuke of their own propaganda. Much like their myth of being the architects of racial equality, while actively destroying race relations. Only the truly ignorant would believe it. If the right ultimately wins, the left will continue to enjoy the freedom to push their propaganda and write their version of history. The difference will be that they will be able to pretend that it's their own policies that have created the stability and prosperity that the right actually maintains. ![]() (Dec 9, 2020 05:37 PM)Syne Wrote:(Dec 9, 2020 03:30 PM)Leigha Wrote: I wonder what will be in the history books about this election. History books reflecting back on this time period will be mainly opinion pieces - probably excerpts from edgy blogs by talking heads on the left. lol History should be factual and not biased opinions designed to push political agendas. Avoiding facts to promote agendas will only lead us to repeating some dark times in history, when you think about it. That can’t be the goal? -_- ![]() (Dec 9, 2020 06:38 PM)Leigha Wrote: Avoiding facts to promote agendas will only lead us to repeating some dark times in history, when you think about it. That can’t be the goal? It absolutely is for the left. Think about it. People were more controlled by authoritarian governments in the past, and the left wants big government in control of everything. ![]()
So true, Syne. Slippery slopes, we didn't get here over night.
In other news, one of my favorite Christian authors Tim Keller has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I watched one of his Zoom calls today, where he was being interviewed and he was diagnosed in May. Tim Keller really has moved me a lot in my faith, helped me to gain a better understanding of the Bible, and a better grasp of who Jesus was. It's common for Christians to see Jesus as ''the word made flesh,'' a man...whose purpose was to die for the world's sins, but Keller explained today ''Jesus' life was to show us how to live, and his death was to show what he did in our place.'' Christianity may seem bleak, but it's not a race to understanding, it's a life journey. If you ever are curious about Tim Keller, he's written numerous books and is what I'd consider to be an ''intellectual'' Christian. He's been compared to a modern day CS Lewis, in his writings. He went on to say that being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer has made him realize how shallow his life had been. This is a guy who has devoted his life to speaking all around the world about Jesus, and has lived a very modest, simple life. He's a very humble guy but he said today that he feels like when you're faced with your mortality, truly faced with it, you realize that God is all you honestly need. He said that as a believer, he always professed this, and lived his life as if that were true, but now that he is facing his mortality sooner than later, he sees where he was relying too much on himself, or the world's promises, than God. He's always been inspiring to me, because he gets to the heart of what Jesus was about - and to live like Christ is not easy, but we can strive for that each day, knowing that Jesus isn't expecting perfection, he's expecting a desire to follow him. The desire will be like planting seeds each day, and eventually, you'll see your life change. Even if you're not a believer, he has spoken at many conferences where mostly atheists were in attendance, and was very gracious to them in his message. He isn't really a ''preacher'' as much as a conversationalist, and his goal is to just share Jesus' story and how he's still relevant today. Anyways, just sharing...I'm bummed that he probably won't live longer than another year, as most pancreatic cancer diagnoses go. ![]()
A few more days, and I'm taking a three week end of year holiday break. How nice it will be.

Have the Democrats forgotten JFK? Whatever happened to ‘ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country’? Is it totally ass backwards now? Is Democrat kowtowing to the demands of the far left a dangerous thing, the hidden message in JFK’s words?

Yes, ever-bigger government pandering to any one group is a recipe for fascism...readily foreshadowed in the violence employed by the left. ![]() (Dec 14, 2020 05:53 PM)Syne Wrote:(Dec 14, 2020 02:18 PM)Zinjanthropos Wrote: Have the Democrats forgotten JFK? You’re going to have to bear leftist bullshit for the next 4 yrs unless Dems think they’ll lose next election. Dems will sell their grandmothers to get elected. Donald’s biggest mistake might be telling it like it is, exactly what the left didn’t want to hear. |
